Go Brian!

Brian,
I'm a friend of Jen Weiss and just wanted to take a
moment to thank you and your men for your
incredible efforts and success in this campaign.
I've read a little about your mission and the big
155mm howitzers you take along with you. So far,
what I've learned is that you don't want to be on
the other end of any round coming out of your guns.
It's obvious that your mission is critical to the success
of any battle, as you batter the enemy and soften his resistance.
The other day I found a brief news article on what I
believe is your division. If so, your guys seemed to
be the heroes of the day.
"Over the weekend, the 2nd MEB seized two large caches of weapons and
chemicals from the Iraqi 11th Division with the help of Cobra gunships
likely from their Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269, one of at
least four helicopter and two Harrier squadrons with Marine Aircraft
Group 29.
According to televised press reports, Task Force Tarawa came under fire
briefly Monday until artillery elements of 1st Battalion, 10th Marine
Regiment returned a barrage that silenced the attackers.
"There are scenes of joy and jubilant reunion (from Iraqi civilians),"
one embedded reporter said, describing Marine forces distributing food and
water captured at the Iraqi division headquarters to the local townspeople."
I wish you all well and hope you come home soon via Baghdad.
I know the Iraqi people of good heart are looking forward to
your arrival in their capitol city.
Many Thanks,
Eric P.

Hello!
I just wanted you to know that Capt. Brian Sharp (along with many other servicemen)
is being prayed for at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Troy, New York. They are
prayed for, by name, at our daily masses and at each recitation of the Daily Office
(Morning and Evening Prayer). Please pass this on to Captain Sharp, if you would.
Thank you, and may God bless you.
Faithfully in Christ Jesus,
Father Thomas J.

Hiya Brian
I am the dad of Jennifer Weiss who has been a friend
of your great wife since the second grade....and I survived
that! In past years we had some great times at volleyball
games and track meets where both were making their
contributions to victory just as you are doing in a much
more important field of endeavor.
I want to wish you the best thoughts and encouragement
in your most admirable (even tho you are in the Marines)
mission. Already you have the brains, training, good looks
and good fortune of being married to Brooke to be a
success so just let my thoughts be the icing on the cake.
In thinking about Brooke I remember the one time
my wife and I were passing through Quantico and
eating at the Globe and Laurel restaurant on our
way back from our home on the Outer Banks (we
always stopped at this eatery run by Marine Major
Spooner (ret) and his wife. Maybe you even know
of what I write. Anyway, Mrs. Spooner called the base
and Brooke came and visited us--she didn't even
accept our invitation to eat; I guess she preferred
the base chow. It was pretty cool nevertheless. This
must have been BB (Before Brian). In writing this it also
brought back memories of taking Brooke with us to
OBX (Outer Banks) for a vacation when they
were in junior high I think.
Hurry and get this unpleasantness over with and
when you visit Cleveland give me a call so I can
meet and thank you in person for a job well done.
My prayers are with you and all of the personnel
liberating Iraq to bring freedom to those poor
oppressed people.

To Brian and fellow
Marines,
I don't know who any
of you are personally but you are all very special and incredible people. I
often think of all the service people fighting in Iraq and their families.
Thank you for doing
such an amazing job. I hope that all of you make it back safely. You are in my
thoughts and prayers.
Hang in there and
come home soon.

Brian,
I was forwarded this
e-mail by my good friend Jen W. and I am happy to send my prayers
and thoughts to you and all of the other amazing men fighting over there for
freedom.
I can only imagine how
it is to be away from family and friends as well as fight a difficult war.
We are all behind you and will be forever grateful for your sacrifice. May God
bless you
every day and bring you home safe.
Love,

Brian,
Know that we are praying
for you daily. Your Mom and I keep in touch via
e-mail. Dan finally got a new computer and is online. Both Dan and Cecily
are fine. I know that Dan would like to get in touch with you when it is
possible to do so. Bradley C. is also over there. AR/3BCT. We are proud
of you and the job you and your troops are doing.

Brian and fellow Marines,
I absolutely have the utmost
respect for you guys, and am damn proud
to be an American.
As the son of a late Korean War Veteran, I wish you
the best in your mission, your triumph and success there, and your safe
return home to the very land you're fighting for and representing.
Keep up the excellent work, and God Bless you
and the United States of America.

To Brian and His Troops and
All Men and Women of the United States Military:
I cannot express how grateful I am to live in a country where
freedom always rings. This would not be possible without people
like you who willingly and honorably serve our country.
I, (as well as all Americans) am indebted to you for the sacrifices
you make daily to preserve our freedom. No matter what you hear,
I can wholeheartedly assure you that an overwhelming majority of
American's support you.
I am not religious, but, for what it's worth, I am praying for you.
Thank you for keeping America the land of the free and the home
of the brave.
Keep up the good work!!!! Come home soon. God bless you and America!!!!!

Dear
Troops:
Please ignore all the war protestors that the networks
are showing on the news daily. The American people are behind you
and our prayers go out daily for you. We pray for a quick resolution
to this war and especially pray for you all individually.
God Bless and keep you.

Alright
Captain Bryan and all your Marines. There is
alot of unrest and some protests against this war,
but dont let that bog you down. I salute you!
GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU AND ALL THE SOLDIERS
YOU TOUCH, COME INTO CONTACT WITH OR HAVE
CONTACT PASSED ON TO THEM FROM SOMEONE
YOU TOUCHED. KEEP YOUR HEADS DOWN
AND YOUR RESOLVE UP.
Your doing a great job and I hope and pray you come
home safe to all your friends and family. What your
doing is a great and noble thing and fighting for freedom
and a peaceful way of life is all a person can ask for.
Your doing a dirty job, and I thank you!!!
On a personal note Brian, I know your brother Kevin,
and we met at his bachelor party. Sorry we couldn't
share the stripper!! :) Keep up the good work and
stay safe. GOOOOOOOO JOEEEEEEEEE!! (If you
need a reference for this last statement, I should
direct you to the G.I. Joe cartoons)

Just
want you to know we are thinking of you
and praying for you over here. I watch the news
daily to get updates and cheer for your victories
and make silent prayers when things aren't going so well.
Wanted to tell you a story... Last weekend I ran
the Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago. At one point during
the race we passed a group of Navy boys watching the
race and cheers went up like crazy from the Runners,
people were clapping and yelling USA, USA - it was
such a great feeling!! And everyone of the runners was
into it!! Regardless of protest against the war and
people's feelings toward war our hearts are with you!!
Take care of yourselves and we hope to have you all home soon...

I
hope that this message will reach Brian and be
spread to others that are defending the right to be free,
that are serving in the military for the USA and Great Britain
and the other countries that are serving.
I stand fully behind their efforts and believe that because
of our own safety in the world, and because so many have
been living under fear and oppression, this war was a
necessary. May God Bless all of our Military!

To
my old, old friend Brian,
Though we have only kept in touch through Kevin's reports,
I think of you often. I am proud of what you have accomplished
in your life. I feel privileged to have shared some of your childhood.
We caused a fair amount of mischief at Grace Church,
usually at Kevin's expense. :)
I look forward to actually seeing you again, someday, and meeting
your wife. I will continue to pray for you and your troops, for your
safety and success, and your timely return to the States.
Fond regards,
Melanie S.

“These
are the times that try men’s souls. The Summer
soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink
from the service of their country, but he that stands it now
deserves the love and thanks of men and women.
Tyranny, like Hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this
consolation with us, that the harder the conflict the more
glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheaply,
we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives
everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a
proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed
if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated.”
-Thomas Paine (1776)
As it was in 1776, the stance against tyranny, and now
terrorism, in the world must be met head on again in 2003.
I salute and pray for the men and women of the coalition forces.
May their endeavor be swift and sure and that our friends
and family return home safe. The majority of America is
behind you 110%!
God bless you and the Unites States of America.

Captain Brian:
You do not know me, but I am Sarah's cousin (I am Sam's sisters
daughter - confused now?) I knew Brooke when she was very young.
I received an e-mail from Sarah last night telling me of your location and
what you and your men are involved in/up against. My husband and I
have watched CNN almost non-stop since last week...however, knowing
that you are there makes it a completely different issue.
Just know that our thoughts are with you at all times...we are praying for
your safe return to the US. A large group of our friends will be getting together
this Saturday night and we will all give a Heartfelt Toast in your honor and
that of your men. You are fighting for a very noble cause!! Remain safe...
as safe as can be under the circumstances...and we all hope you are
home with Brooke very very soon.
Paige P. (John-hubby and Jonathan (Sarah's 8 year old god-son)) |
May your cousin and all the world be blessed with a quick resolution.
Hope you're well.

To all the men and women overseas,
My family and I have been following the war closely, and we appreciate
all that you are doing for our country. Know that you are in our thoughts
and prayers daily. Fight hard, win big, and come home safe!
Jean W. |
I do not know any of you personally, but am
very, very grateful to you
for the work you are doing for our country, and for being
there during this difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Take good care,

Dear Brian-
You may not remember
me, but I have been thinking about you so much lately.
I'm a good friend of Brooke's from when we were kids, and I had a nice
dance
with you at your wedding!
I am continually
amazed at what you all do for all of us back home; it is truly amazing.
Please know I am sending positive thoughts and energy to all of you every day,
and wish
you all a safe return soon. Here's to us sharing another dance on your
next wedding
anniversary !! (I'm sure Brooke won't mind!).
Stay strong and know
we all support you. Thanks from everyone back here at home.
Love,
Jen W.

Hi Brian and your Men,
I am the Corps brat that Teresa spoke of. We live in Swansboro and my husband
was in the Gulf 12 years ago. He has been medically discharged, he wants to be
there with all of you. Once a Marine...
We hear the bombing at night and the jets over head. We never complain like some
about the noise form our "neighbors". It's music to my ears and always has been.
We are very proud of all of you and support you fully. We will pray for you and your safe return.
You can also bet that when you come back we will be standing on Freedom Way
with our flag and signs. When Keith came home 12 years ago it took them 3 hours
to get from Morehead City to LeJeune thru the crowds on 24. Your welcome home
will be just as large. We pray for your safe return and stand proudly beside you.

Hi Brian,
I'm not sure you will remember me but I am Andrea's mother.
Your mother shared this web site with me and I want to thank you
for what you and your troops are doing and assure you that you
are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. My grandson, Gregg,
just completed boot camp in Parris Island and, hopefully, will serve with honor
in the Marine Corps tradition. I spoke with him this morning and he is
flying back to North Carolina to be deployed to Hawaii tomorrow.
I shared this web site with an in-law niece who is a Marine Corps Brat.
Her father retired from the Corps after 20+ years of service and
she is also married to a former marine (I'm really not sure that
anyone is a "former" marine). They still live very close to Camp LeJeune
and are totally devoted to the Corps. Hopefully, you will get a note
from her. She is an extremely up-beat person who always lifts my spirit.
I just want you to know that, as I said before, you and your family
are in my thoughts and prayers and I want you to stay safe and strong.

Bill and myself (Tanya), Roman, and Mason are praying for the safety
and well being of all of the troops. However I can't help but to say a
more specific prayer for my cousin-in-law, Brian and his new bride Brooke.
We were sorry you were unable to come up for the holidays, but I hope and
pray for Brian's safe return, and hope to see you newly weds again in person.
I've got to go for now, Love in Christ,

My dear friend
Elena sent me this message and I want to pass on my well wishes to you and your
troops. Being a former Marine, with 3/9, I want to let you and your men know
that I appreciate all that you are doing.
When times are
tough and all you miss your friends and family remember this: When you look into
the sky at night and see the stars, remember that your friends and loved ones
will be looking at the same stars, we are never far away. All of us are thinking
of you and your family and friends love you.
God Bless and

Brian and
Marines,
Hope all
is well. Thanks for carrying on the flag. I know you are well trained and
motivated. Perhaps we should pray for the Iraqis that will come into your
sights. God will take care of you for your mission is just.
If there
are those among you who do not return know that your life was given in the cause
of freedom and the rights of man for which this country leads the world. And we
only lead the world because of the dedication of those of us who have been and
are now at the point of the spear. Those who put service to God, Country and
Corps before oneself.
God
Speed!!

To My Baby Brother
Captain Brian:
A warm hello from a chilly place here in New England. Been thinking much about
you these days and hoping you will be bring us home some really cool souvenirs
from you journey to the Middle East. Please, no turbans, snakes, spiders or
books on 1001 fancy ways to part your beard. A barrel or two of oil might be ok,
but I know they are heavy and you’ll want to pack light so nothing can slow
you down on your return home.
Yesterday I chatted
with Dad. He has taken up watching the Home and Garden channel. When I told him
we were redoing our front bedroom, he thought the color maroon might be nice. He
saw it on the show he was watching when I called, and if I went directly to the
TV NOW I’d be able to see it. Yes, I know it is hard to believe our father,
the great deer hunter is talking about decorating. It stunned me too.
Anyway, I hope this
messages reaches you. May you and your men remain safe. You are in our deepest
and best of thoughts. Kick ass. Come home. What more can I say…..
Your darling big
sister.

Brian,
I am a friend of Elena and met Brooke at her wedding.
I want you to know that my husband David and I absolutely support with
thoughts and prayers all that you and your men and women are doing for
our country and peoples of other countries that are unable to defend
themselves adequately against their enemies.
We know how difficult it must be to be there, but for these
2 middle aged Americans, we salute and thank you.
You will have our constant prayers, and we do absolutely believe in the
power of prayer for our Nation. God Bless you!

I
know Brian and Brooke from their time at Ft. Sill. Brooke was the best darned
Wildlife Refuge Volunteer to ever lopp cedars (She kicked the tail of two
retired Air Force types and a retired Navy guy)!
As a retiree, I know what positive thinking can do for lives (your own and
others). As a believer, I know what Christ can do for the same lives.
There is not an hour of the day goes by I do not think of military serving the
rest of us. My friends are still active duty, my son is a Marine at Lejeune,
and my community is an Army one.
You are right about the possibility of not supporting a war, yet supporting
our troops.
My prayers go out to Brian's unit. What you are doing is what many of us know
first hand about. You are not forgotten, and you make us proud.
