Chapter 42: {Melon} Melissa stood there with tears building in her eyes. "Mel, let me explain." Val started to approach her. "Explain what?! How you left me...your best friend, your sister out of your wedding?! When the hell did you two become engaged anyway?! Val was against the whole thing the other day!" Melly yelled. "Last night, so much happened last night. Please just let us explain what happen to you." Brian tried to reason with a very upset Melissa. "You don't have to explain." Melly looked up to Val & Brian with her tear soaked eyes, "I understand." "Oh, good because.." Melly cut off Val. "I understand that you two are the most selfish people I know! You only care about yourselves! When Nick & I were going to elope, we made sure you guys were with us!" Melly screamed once again. "We're selfish?! Look in the mirror! Why can't you just be happy for us? Why does everything have to revolve around you and how you feel about it?!" Val finally snapped back. "Girls, let's not get too carried away here." Nick pleaded with them. "Yeah, gals, let's stop it before it goes too far." Brian said. "I'm not selfish for feeling this way! We grew up as little girls dreaming of our wedding days and now you just completely scattered those dreams." Melly yelled back. "Wait a God Damned second!" Val yelled, "How dare you yell at us for getting married without you...you guys got married without us! I heard you tell Ethan and his mom earlier!" "We're not married." Nick laughed, "I just thought of that to trick those losers." "Well, anyway, Melissa...people grow up, people change, what we dreamed of as 8 year olds in my backyard was never gonna happen, it was a fantasy." Val chuckled. "Well, I'm going to make my fantasy come true." Melly shot back. "Of course you will. You're a spoiled little brat, whose daddy & mommy give you whatever you want!" Val smirked. "Don't be jealous, Valerie. The color green does nothing for you." Melly smirked back. "Well, the word bitch suits you just fine!" Val screamed. "What did you say?!" Melly stepped closer to Val. "Oh No." Nick looked at Brian. "My thoughts exactly man." Brian looked back at him. "I called you a B-I-T-C-H!" Val spelled out. "Well, from this moment on...we're no longer friends, no longer sisters...you'll no longer have this bitch in your life." Melly sternly stated before she turned away and headed for her room. "Baby, wait, you don't mean that." Nick grabbed her arm. "Yes, I do." Melly simply stated, "She's to blame for everything horrible we've been through. She was the one who said we should go talk to those two guys on the beach. Ethan and Jason have been nothing but trouble and it's all that bitch's fault!" Melly pointed to Val. "Ya know what?" Val walked closer to Melly as Brian and Nick scrambled to step in front of their women. "What? Enlighten me." Melly looked over Nick's shoulder. "I like your idea...we know longer have anything to do with each other!" Val screamed over Brian's shoulder. "Fine!" Melly stormed to her room and slammed the door. "Uggh!" Val grunted as she slammed her room door.Nick and Brian were left there stunned and not knowing what to say to each other. "Ah, Nick..man, I hope you understand." Brian finally broke the silence. "Rok, I'm alittle upset that you left us out but you did it all for love. Congrats man." Nick said extending his hand. "Thanks man." Brian shook his hand, "But what are we gonna do with our ladies?" "Women. Can't live with or without them." Nick shook his head, "But, man, I know Melly didn't mean what she said. She's very emotional, ya know." "Yeah, and I know Val didn't mean it either. She just gets caught up in the moment." Brian said, "But Nick, we never ment to hurt you guys. It was just spare of the moment. We love you and Melly so much. We're family and I don't want us to be at war." "Bri, I know and I know Melly feels the same way in her heart. The girls are just gonna need some time to realize what we're realizing right now." Nick said. "Brothers?" Brian smiled open his arms for a hug. "Forever." Nick said patting Brian on the back. Just as the Boys were finishing their sentimental moment, they heard their hotel room doors opening. "Bri-Bri, are you coming? I wanna celebrate." Val sweetly yelled to Brian as she glanced down at Melissa. "Twinkie, I'm lonely in here." Melly pouted and glared down to Val. "I, I gotta go. That's my cue." Nick excitedly said. "Yeah," Brian chuckled, "me too. Talk tomorrow and we can figure out a peace treaty, ok?" "Definitely, nite." Nick said as he walked towards his fiancée. "Nite." Brian said smiling as he reached his room. ~Nick & Melissa~ "Well, hello, you look happier than before." Nick smiled as he took Melissa in his arms. "Uhuh, as long as you hold me tonight." Melly said resting her head on Nick's chest. "I don't see that being a problem." Nick smirked down to her as she lifted her head up and kissed him like never before. "Whoa...where'd that come from?" Nick asked out of breath. "Sssh..it's only the beginning." Melly said as she placed her finger on his lips. "Oh, I see...but what if I don't want to?" Nick said in between her sweet kisses. Melly stopped from pulling his shirt up and looked up at him, "That was almost funny." she smiled. "Yea, I know...I tried to act like I wasn't interested...but who am I kidding...I'm a slave for you." Nick said as Melly jumped in his arms and wrapped her arms and legs around him. "Are you ready?" she whispered in his ear. Nick shivered at her voice and nails scratching his back. "Uhm, yea, right now." He said taking her to their bedroom. ~Brian & Valerie~ "So, you wanna celebrate, huh?" Brian asked his wife. "Well...I just said that to prove to Melly that she isn't the only one who could get some tonight. I'm upset about what happened." "I know...it was really unexpected." Brian consoled his wife. "Yeah, but forget her. They're prolly in there making babies." Val shouted, "That's what Melly does, she runs away from everything." "Baby, I wish you two could work this out instead of insulting each other." Brian said rubbing her arm. "I don't think that's possible." Val said walking to the balcony as Brian followed her. "Why not? Why can't you call her tomorrow and talk it out?" Brian sat down next to his wife. "Because." Val simply said. "What kinda answer is that? Because what?" Brian turned his wife's face towards him. "Because...well, because she hurt my feelings. I didn't know playing a trick on you and Nick on the beach that night with Ethan and Jason would turn out to be such a huge mess. How can she think that was all my fault? Like I planned it to happen that way. She's my best..well, ex-friend." Val said starting to cry. "Don't cry." Brian hugged her. "Why am I crying over someone who means nothing to me anymore?!" Val cried. "Because she doesn't mean nothing to you. You guys are the girl version of Frick and Frack." Brian smiled. "Change of subject...it's our honeymoon now." "Are you sure?" Brian said rubbing her back. "Yes, she isn't shedding a tear over me right now, why should I." Val said pulling Brian inside. "How do you know?" Brian asked. "Now, what kinda question is that?" Val laughed. "Good point...but you know she cares." Brian said sincerely. "I said change of subject...our friendship is over." Val sighed. "All right, I don't wanna fight on our wedding night, Mrs. Littrell." Brian kissed her lips. "Me either, Mr. Littrell." Val said as her and Brian fell to their bed. ~The next morning~ ~Melly & Nick~ Melly was the first to wake. Nick was wonderful but she still felt horrible. She pushed her and Val's argument aside, like she always does to everything, and now it was hitting her. "I don't have my best friend anymore." she sobbed. She continued to sob until it woke Nick up. "Sweetie, you okay?" Nick sat up rubbing his eyes. "Uhm, yea, I'm fine." she said with her voice cracking as she rolled away from him. "What's wrong? I can tell your crying." Nick said touching her arm. "I, I'm not cry..ing." Melly managed to squeak out. "Yes, you are." Nick said rolling her over to face him, "Now tell me why, please?" "It's nothing." Melly said wiping her eyes. "It's Val, isn't it?" Nick looked down at her. "No, why would I be crying over her?" Melly said turning her head away again as a tear rolled down her face. "That answers my question." Nick said pulling Melly up, "Call her." "No, can't do that." Melly cried. "It's hurting you so much, why not fix it?" Nick said wiping her eyes. "Because we agreed to never talk again." she whispered. "You guys didn't mean that. You were both just upset." Nick whispered back. "New topic...It's over and done with. What are we doing today?" Melly smiled. Nick knew it was killing her inside but went along with her request. "Well, the tour kicks off tonight, remember?" Nick asked. "Oh, yea, so you got one last rehearsal today, huh?" Melly said sadly. "Yes, I do." Nick kissed her, "You can come hang there if you want." "No, I'll just distract you..and Val will prolly be there. I'll find something to do." Melly laid back down on the bed. "You're gonna come to the show though? Even though Val will be there, right?" Nick asked. "Of course. I wouldn't miss it." Melly sat up to hug him. "Good because I need to see your face in the audience." He smiled. "You better get ready and get there early." Melly pushed him. "Good idea." He said jumping from the bed and heading to the bathroom. ~Val and Brian~ "Morning." Val said as she kissed Brian on the cheek from behind. "Morning, Mrs. Brian Littrell." Brian smiled. "Ah, we're really married." Val squealed. "That we definitely are and last night proved it." Brian laughed. "Yeah, that was something special all right." Val smiled. "Where did you learn that thing you did?" Brian smirked. "A women never reveals her sources." Val laughed. "Well, thank him or her for me, will ya?" Brian chuckled as Val hit his arm playfully. "So, you coming to the arena early with me?" Brian asked. "For what?" Val asked confused. "The tour starts tonight." Brian said drinking his juice. "Oh damn, I forgot." Val sighed, "No, I don't wanna cause trouble." "What trouble would you cause?" Brian looked at her. "Melly will prolly be there and I don't wanna, ya know." Val frowned. "I know. But you'll be there for the show, right?" Brian curiously asked. "Of course! Can't wait to see you guys up there!" Val excitedly said. "Excellent, well, I better go." Brian said taking one last sip of his juice and kissing her, "See'ya tonight." "Bye." Val said as he walked out the door. ~Nick & Brian~ "Yo, man, wait up!" Nick yelled to Brian as the elevator doors were closing, "Thanks for holding it." "No problem. How's Melly?" Brian asked. "A total wreck. She won't admit it but she misses Val." Nick told him, "Val?" "Same thing. She misses Mel too." "Melissa didn't wanna come today because she thought Valerie would be there." Nick looked over a Brian. "God, they are so much alike. Val didn't come because she thought Melly would be there." Brian laughed. "Frick and Frack." Nick joined him laughing. "Exactly! That's what I said last night." Brian said loudly. "I wish we could do something." Nick sighed. "Yeah, me too. But God has plan...they will forgive and forget one day." Brian said as the elevator reached the ground floor. The Boys headed to their rehearsal, hoping Val & Mel could work this out because they didn't know how much more of this they could handle. ~Valerie & Melissa~ Valerie and Melissa didn't come out of their rooms all day because even though they thought the other was with the Boys...they didn't wanna take the chance of running into one another. Melissa sat in her room, on the phone, talking to Nick's mom and her mom about wedding plans. Valerie rented a few movies and gave herself a facial. Before long, it was time to head out to the arena for the show. "Purse. Where is my purse?" Melly looked around her room, "Ah, there it is." She took one last look in the mirror and walked out her room to the elevator. "Key. Where's the darn key for the room?" Val pushed the papers on the desk around, "Got it." She too took one last look in the mirror and walked out her room to the elevator. "Oh, hold it please." Val yelled as the elevator began to close, "Thank-you, I would have been late." "No prob..." Melly stopped realizing she was in the elevator with Val, "Oh God." "What's wrong?" Val looked to the women to her right, "Oh God." She said realizing what Melly already had. Just then the elevator stopped. "Oh no, this isn't happening!" Melly screamed and began to push buttons. "Please tell me we aren't stuck here together?!" Val shook her head as she pick up the emergency phone. "Hello?" a women picked up. "Yes, Hi, two of us are stuck in the elevator between floors 33 and 32." Val explained. "Okay, the entire city lost power. The power plant had an explosion. We're gonna try and get someone to you guys but it's going to be awhile." the women explained to Val before hanging up. "Great. We're stuck in here for awhile." Val yelled. "No! I can't stay with you." Melly screamed. "I'm not thrilled either." Val glared at her, "You just sit there and I'll sit over here." "Fine." Melly sat on her side. "Okay." Val sat on her side. It was going to be a long few hours. ~END of CHAPTER 42~ Back to Index Chapter 43 |
