Tweed / Brunswick Region
The Nursery Industry Association of New South Wales [NIAN] was established in the 1940's by nursery people to provide a body for growers and sellers of quality plants. Over the past 50 years its activities have increased immeasurably and it has developed into a professional organization looking after the interests of people and businesses in the Nursery Industry.
NIAN is the peak body in NSW for the Nursery Industry and liaises and co-operates with all State bodies accordingly.
Membership is open to all production and retail nurseries throughout NSW and to other businesses or professionals who are involved in the Industry, whether a small or large enterprise.
NIAN co-operates closely with similar organizations in the other Australian states - QNIA in Queensland, NIAV in Victoria etc.
The Nursery Industry Association of Australia was
formed by the State Associations to be the Federal peak body in Australia to
address Federal issues and liaise with Federal bodies. NIAA is also able to
provide a simple communication link between the State
Associations.
Tweed Brunswick Region
Our local Region was formed in 1988 from the strong Northern Rivers Region to provide a local focus for the nurseries in the far north border coastal area of NSW. Geographically we concentrate our activities in the Tweed and Brunswick river basins.
The region provides links between the Local Governments as well as links with local Representatives of State and Federal Governments.
Of course we maintain very close links with the
Northern Rivers Region and also with our northern neighbors in Queensland the
Gold Coast Branch of QNIA.
MEETINGS
We meet on the second Thursday of August, October, December, February, April, June at 6.30pm for 7.00pm. Ask any member for the current location of these social dinner meetings with a message.
