Saturday, March 8th, 2008 - Hareem Shar'eem will take part in the International Women's Day celebration. *Celebrate the Goddess* will also include a vegetarian potluck dinner, a short film about the Iraqi women's resistance, Women2Women Peace Flag Project and community drum circle with Cindy Hill of Rhythm Culture (drums provided). The show is from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Central-Hower High School Auditorium. Donations (cash and goods) will be accepted at the door. Saturday, October 22nd, 2005 - Hareem Shar'eem will take part in a fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina. We will join other local artists as part of Artists in Motion (AIM) which will treat audiences to poetry, music, comedy and visual art. Artists In Motion (AIM) will take place at the new Idea Center at Playhouse Square 1375 Euclid Ave Saturday, October 22, 2005, from 7-10PM. Admission is free, however a $10 donation is suggested. Proceeds from the show will go to the Red Cross.

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005 - Hareem Shar'eem will perform as part of the Ingenuity Festival in downtown Cleveland at the muni lot on Euclid Ave near the Colonial Arcade. Performance times are 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00. Each set will be about 20 minutes. We will highlight three of our dance styles, including Rom/Gypsy, Tribaret and Tribal Fusion. This event is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, August 16th, 2005 - Hareem Shar'eem will take part in the Middle Eastern Dance Expo at Pennsic XXXIV - an SCA event at Cooper's Lake in Pennsylvania. We had such a good time performing last year, we just had to do it again!!

Saturday, September 18th, 2004 - Allen Theater lobby, Playhouse Square. Hareem Shar'eem took part in Playhouse Square's Centerfest. This arts celebration offered various local and national performing arts groups. A community-wide open house arts festival, Centerfest brought families and artists together to celebrate the arts. Labor Day Weekend, 2004 - Hareem Shar'eem performed at the Baycrafter's Renaissance Faire. This annual event showcases the work of the BayCrafters Artisans Association. Tuesday, August 17th, 2004 - Members of Hareem Shar'eem took part in the Middle Eastern Dance Expo at Pennsic War in Slippery Rock, PA. This was the first time we have performed at Pennsic - other than around the campfire.

Summer, 2004 - Hareem Shar'eem is proud to have been selected to take part in Sparx in the City's Street Beats. A program of the Downtown Cleveland Partnership, Street Beats brought street entertainment to the downtown Cleveland area on Fridays at lunch and after work and on Saturday evenings. A variety of entertainment ambassadors were chosen, including break dancers, musicians, singers, flamenco dancers, jugglers and, of course, belly dancers. It was a great experience for us - and culminated with our being featured in a series of 'SafeAuto' commercials on WUAB. Apparently we really "know about minimum coverage". Saturday, May 15th, 2004 - Rava and Delilah of Hareem Shar'eem taught a workshop at Baron Wars, an SCA event in Perrysburg, Ohio. Due to the chilly weather, the workshop was held inside a tavern. Everyone had a great time and even put on an impromptu performance for the other patrons.

Saturday, May 1st, 2004 - Hareem Shar'eem taught a workshop for beginners at Baldwin Wallace College. The students were fantastic - I'm guessing they were dance students because they picked everything up very quickly. We all had a great time and look forward to doing more such workshops. Saturday, March 27th, 2004 - Hareem Shar'eem danced at the Cultural Journeys World Celebration Event, in coordination with the Cleveland International Film Festival. This year's party was at the ARTcade (Colonial Arcade Marketplace. As usual we had a great time and kudos to Green for ending the workshop on a high note during the open dance. Saturday, February 28th, 2004 - Hareem Shar'eem gave a short performance for the dance studio, Get Hep Swing, at one of their monthly dance parties. We had a great time, and even got in a bit of swing dancing while there!

Sunday, February 15th, 2004 - Hareem Shar'eem performed at a benefit held at the renowned Hermit Club. The Hermit Club is unique to Cleveland and the USA as the only private club dedicated to the performing arts. We are very excited to have been given the opportunity to perform there.

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004 - Shirasaya taught a class on belly dance from at Noble Library in Cleveland Heights. This was a part of Noble Library's "Dancing Families" series where each month a different type of dance is taught with an emphasis on whole families coming to the program to enjoy time together.

Friday, November 7th, 2003 - Members of Hareem Shar'eem participated in Fast Forward: CMA Celebrates Contemporary Art. This after hours event at the Cleveland Museum of Art showcased the museum's contemporary art collection. Many thanks to Mr. Faithwalker who invited us to perform - there is no experience quite like dancing barefoot on a marble floor surrounded by beautiful and priceless works of art.

Saturday, June 14th, 2003 - Parade the Circle, University Circle, ~noon. Troupe Hareem Shar'eem joined friends including Yeleni of Yashara's studio and Sirani of Dahmia's studio to take part in this yearly parade of University Circle. We were blown away by the variety of costumes and acts - our fellow Clevelanders are so creative!! As an added bonus, we got to dance to the drumming of our old friend, Jules. Thanks Jules! Monday, June 9th, 2003 - Hareem Shar'eem performed at Hiram House Camp for the Cleveland Clinic's Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation Therapy Services. We were on hand to help celebrate our international community. The children celebrated a different continent every day. Unfortunately by some geographical mishap we danced on South America Day. Oh well - it was still a blast!

Saturday, June 8th, 2002 - Parade the Circle, University Circle, ~noon. Troupe Hareem Shar'eem joined friends Yeleni of Yashara's studio and Sirani of Dahmia's studio to take part in this yearly parade of University Circle. Sandwiched between stilt walkers and Egyptian princes and princesses, we had a GREAT time. Thanks, Chris, for drumming for us on that incredibly HOT day. As an added bonus, we were featured on FOX 8 that evening. This will definitely be an annual event for us!!

Saturday, May 18th, 2002 - The Barking Spider, University Circle, Cleveland, Ohio. Thanks to the efforts of our drummer, Raphael, we were able to deliver an impromptu performance at this legendary saloon in University Circle. It was a dream come true for Calliope, who has spent many an evening chatting with folks at their communal outdoor picnic tables. Many thanks to Raphael and Martin, the proprietor.

Saturday & Sunday, May 18th & 19th, 2002 - Hessler Street Fair, University Circle, Cleveland, Ohio. The troupe braved the bizarre Northeastern Ohio weather (snow in May??) to perform at this yearly street festival which serves as the primary fund-raiser for the Hessler Neighborhood Association (HNA). A great time was had by all. Kudos to our fabulous drummer, Raphael, for going the extra mile and getting us stage time at one of the best bars in Cleveland (see above). Friday, May 3rd, 2002 - A dinner performance at Casablanca Cuisine - 1932 South Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Saturday, April 13th, 2002 - First Unitarian Church in Shaker Heights. A multi-cultural celebration offering international music, food and dancing. In addition to Troupe Hareem Shar'eem, performers included a folkloric Turkish dance troupe, an African dance troupe, and Dancing Wheels.

Saturday, April 13th, 2002 - The Coronation of Valharic and Alys - Troupe Hareem Shar'eem performed at an event for The Society of Creative Anachronisms. This event featured medieval food, music, and entertainment. Please refer to the Cleftlands web page for more information.

Saturday, April 20th, 2002 - Showcase Concert following the dance workshop taught by Mariano Parra of New York City. The evening show featured members of Hareem Shar'eem and many other accomplished area dancers. Columbus YWCA stage.
