Matthew's Page

Matthew was born on July 11, 2000. He was also full term. He was just 8 days early. Matthew weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. When he was just 2 months old he got very sick and was hospitalized for 5 days for a bladder infection. Had Troy not been home the day we took him to the ER Matthew would not be with us today. Matthew was on antibiotics until 2003 when he decided he's had it and stopped taking it altogether. His last urology appointment was 8/30/2004 and consisted of an ultrasound only. His kidneys and bladder are now clear! Update 3/28/2006: Troy noticed Matthew had lumps in his stomach a few months back. Not to mention poor Matthew would bloat up after eating certain foods. I made an appointment for Matt to see the doctor in the end of December '05. The doctor wanted Matthew to have another ultrasound done to make sure everything was clear. Matthew had the ultrasound done January 20, 2006. It came back clear. So we discussed the possibility of hernias (yes, I said hernias) since it runs in Troy's side of the family. The doctor suspects it is, but does not feel it is live threatening (at the moment) and that Matthew may even outgrow it. Worse case scenerio is that Matthew will need surgery in the future.
