Dawn arrives in spectacular pinks and blues, making black silhouettes of the palm trees on the opposite shore
of Logan’s inland waterway. A mango tree heavy with fruit drips humidity as tiny geckos creep forth to do
slow morning push-ups on the deck. The scent of gardenias and roses from the garden perfumes the soft morning
air. It’s very early, but Troy and Katie Boden are already awake, the coffee is on, and the farm dogs (two
Jack Russells, a Corgi, and a Labrador Retriever) enthusiastically greet their owners and the new day. In
just a few hours recreational water traffic will begin its daily parade past the lovely Boden residence,
dolphins and manatees will begin to play in the sparkling waves, and the geckos on the deck will resume their
incessant daily chases. But by then, on most days, Troy and Katie will have left home behind and made the
brief trip along the trail to the barns of Silver Maple Farm, where they will immerse themselves in
their unqualified passion: Arabian and Warmblood horses.
