Creation Myth
Why Leaves Change Color
by Brooke H.

One day while this gentlemen Richard Roberts was walking along , he thought why do the leaves change color? He went to eat dinner with his friend Cal Pratt. The cafe was Italian. They had spaghetti with Italian sodas. His friend was thinking why do the leaves change color. Richard asked,’’ what did you just say?’’ Oh nothing’’, replied.

The next day he got up and ate breakfast with his family. He rode his bike to the forest where he always painted his paintings. But today something awesomely exciting was going to happen. He was eating and he spilt paint on the leaves and then he decided to paint the rest around him. A fairy prince and princess were playing near by and heard Richard talking to himself. He was saying.’’ I wish someone would tell me how the leaves change I would never tell anyone’’.

The fairys heard this and flew over and told Richard their meaning for life. There job was every year they fly around in a chariot made of a leaf and has butterflies leading instead of horses. The princess was to change the green leaves to the bright colors red, orange and yellow that represent the fall.

The prince of green changes the leaves in the first part of spring through the summer. He has a harder job than the princess . He has to make new leaves and make sure the get painted in time. Then he must attach them to the branches .

Richard thought about how the the fairies looked . They were wearing play clothes and their wings were see through with sparkles on the edges of them. Everywhere the fairies walked or flew the fairy dust would sprinkle off their wings. After talking to them for a while Richard said he had to go home because it was getting late.

He rode his bike home and he never told anyone about meeting the fairys until about 5 minutes before he died . He wanted the story to become a legend.
