Charkimus: [Plowing Field; Sees war ships returning] FATHER!!!!! YOU’VE RETURNED!!!!! [Runs down to harbor]

Maximus: Slow down squirt! I need to have a little talk with you right away!

Charkimus: What about, Maximus?

Maximus: I’m deeply sorry young Charkimus........ but your father, Levitacus, is not with us anymore.

Charkimus: What are you trying to tell me, General Maximus?

Maximus: Levitacus is dead. He died to save my life. His last words were to take care of you. I will be your mentor, if you would like.

Charkimus: My father cannot be dead! That would mean that I have no father.

Maximus: You are right, young Charkimus. I have offered not to take your father’s place in your home, but to help you through life. Also, there shall be a grand feast, for we have defeated the Spartans!

Charkimus: We shall not celebrate! My father, Levitachus, has died! We shall have a day of mourning. Now please leave me, General Maximus!

Narrator: So, Charkimus was left without a father. Don’t worry, we took out the section where Charkimus has the song and dance number, “I Will Survive,” by Diana Ross and the Supremes. Now back to the performance.

Charkimus: [Sitting next to lake skipping rocks] [Athena approaches Charkimus]

Athena: Your father, Levitacus, was a great warrior, but he’s in trouble down within the Underworld. You must help him.

Charkimus: [Startled] ATHENA?! What is this about my father in the Underworld?

Athena: He is in danger. Wait..... I sense disbelief in your voice! If you do not believe me, your father will die!

Charkimus: My father is strong! He would never let Proximo torture him! NEVER!!! [Athena walks away]

Narrator: This was trouble! If Charkimus will not believe anyone of his father’s fate in the Underworld, he cannot save him from Proximo’s wrath.

Charkimus: [wakes up in dream] [Levitacus there] Father? Is that you?

Levitacus: Yes my son! You must come rescue me from my chamber in the Underworld! Proximo is torturing me! HELP!!!!!!!! [Charkimus wakes up in sweats]

Charkimus: Must..... Find..... Sevacles.....

Narrator: Charkimus realizes Athena was right! He knew he must rescue his father.

Charkimus: [At Sevacles’ hut] What shall I do, Sevacles? My father is in danger down in the Underworld! What shall I do?

Sevacles: You shall go and rescue him, my son!

Charkimus: Where is the Underworld, Sevacles?

Sevacles: In the Ocean. You shall sail a boat out there and find it. Even I don’t know where it is in the Ocean. Even though, I have faith in you to find it!

Charkimus: If you say to go to the Underworld, then I shall sail to the Underworld. I will leave as soon as possible with a few good men.

Narrator: Now that Charkimus was 19, he was off to the Underworld to save his father! His crew members were General Maximus, Tonacles the town music player, and Kelseus the marketplace worker.

Charkimus: [Loading Ship] [Holding big box] Kelseus! Kelseus! This box is very heavy! Help!

Kelseus: [Comes running] Sorry, captain Charkimus! I had to say goodbye to my family! Here, let me help you with that. [Takes heavy box from Charkimus] [Sets down box in ship] I do have a question though, Sir.

Charkimus: What is it, Kelseus?

Kelseus: When will we board the ship?

Charkimus: I’ll tell you what, you go say another goodbye to your family and when you come back we shall board my ship. Now how does that sound?

Kelseus: Great. Just great! Thank you, Charkimus! [Kelseus runs off]

Narrator: END OF ACT #2. PLEASE STAY SEATED WHILE THE ACTORS GET READY FOR ACT #3, WRITTEN BY JUSTIN H.

Act 3

by: Justin H.

Narrator: After several days of traveling, Charkimus and his men reached an island.

Charkimus: Let’s get off the ship. Put the anchor down, Maximus.

Narrator: So Charkimus and his men explored the island. Soon they came upon a big monster.

Maximus: (scared) What do we do now?

Charkimus: Don’t be afraid, Maximus. We will defeat this creature of evil. (draws his sword)

Narrator: Then Charkimus took his sword and stabbed the monster. This had no effect on the monster’s health.

Charkimus: (to the monster) I will kill you! (monster pushes him down)

Narrator: So Charkimus pulled out his bow and shot down the monster using a golden arrow.

Charkimus: (to his men) We must leave this place. We were almost killed. (pauses) Load the ship!

Narrator: So Charkimus and his men got back on their ship and continued their quest.

Kelseus: (complaining) How much longer until we get there?

Tonacles: (complaining) Ya, I’m getting sick of sailing.

Narrator: Everything went well until a sea monster attacked Charkimus and his crew.

Kelseus: Help! (falling out of the boat)

Poseidon: (his voice) Charkimus.

Charkimus: (angered) Who are you and what do you want from me?

Poseidon: (his voice) I am Poseidon, god of the sea.

Charkimus: What do you want?

Poseidon: I am warning you. If you kill Proximo, I will pursue you for eternity.

Charkimus: You will never stop me from saving my father!

Narrator: So the sea monster went away. Charkimus and his remaining men and sailed on. The next day they reached a floating cave.

Charkimus: We have reached the Underworld.

ACT 4

by Jared

Narrator: So Charkimus and Maximus went into the flaming cave and entered through a bone covered door that was very hot. They saw flames everywhere, and spirits wandering through-out the dark palace.

Charkimus: I must find Proximo’s lair.

Maximus: The philosopher said the map will show us.

narrator: So they saw where the lair was on the map and they saw a tall door with strange lizards crawling all over the door. They opened the door to see Proximo sitting in a chair.

Proximo: Why are you here?

Charkimus: My father came to me in a dream and told me that you have been torturing him. So let him go or I shall kill you.

Proximo: I will not free your father cause he lost me a lot of money.

Charkimus: Then my friend and I shall kill you.

Proximo: How about if you two fight me in front of all the underworld, and if you win you can be king of this land.

Charkimus: Ok, that's a good deal.

Proximo: You must get ready in one hour.

Narrator: The men got ready and grabbed their swords and soon enough it was time for the battle.

Proximo: Are you ready to die?

Charkimus: Only after you.

Proximo: Let's just start the battle.

narrator: The battle started with Proximo whacking Maximus with the blunt side of the sword, knocking him out. Then Charkimus was all alone.

Proximo: Now that you are alone I shall kill you with ease.

Charkimus: You may think that, but you are wrong, because I must save my father. I will not allow you to make him suffer.

Narrator: So they fought more and more. It has been 6 hours so far.

Maximus: What happened?

Narrator: Proximo had his sword at the neck of Charkimus. Maximus thought that it was over, but he made a plan.

Maximus: I must kill him while he is not looking. (to himself)

Narrator: Maximus creeped behind him and stabbed him in the shoulder. Proximo turned around and stabbed Maximus in the heart. Maximus fell to the ground, then Charkimus stuck his sword into Proximos stomach. He fell also and all the spirits rejoiced.

Charkimus: I win, I win, yesssss! I am the greatest! I am king! I killed the devil!! (jumps around)

Narrator: Back home Charkimus was in a great parade, but soon he had to go to the underworld to rule over the spirits.

Leviticus: I'd like to thank you, son, for all your support to save me. So now you can stay with me all you want.

Charkimus: You're welcome. So now that I am king of the underworld you must do as I say.

Leviticus: Ahhhhhh, that's not fun!

Charkimus: Well, was dying fun? And I must take care of over 10 thousand souls.

Leviticus: Well, ok.

Narrator: So he ruled for eternity over all the souls, even the one of Proximo.
