37. “Patio de los Altares” – sacrificial altar where children were sacrificed to satisfy Tlaloc (the rain god), who would make rain for the cornfields. The sacrifice would be carried out by one of four methods: (1) drowning, (2) decapitation, (3) burning, (4) opening of the heart. In front of the altar is a tomb.
