79. Pyramid of the Sun seen from the plaza of the Sun. This is not only one of the most massive structures to have been built in ancient Mexico, but also one of the mightiest to have been built in the ancient world altogether. Its base measures 220 x 225 m (720 x 738 feet). The pyramid towers up some 63 m (206 feet) and has a volume of almost 1 million cubic meters (over 35 million cubic feet).
