THE PRINCE OF EGYPT
By Nicholas C.

A long time ago about 3000.b.c. the Egyptians had the Hebrews as slaves. The pharaoh ruled all Egypt. One day the population of the Hebrews grew too much. So pharaoh had all the babies thrown into the Nile River and killed. Yocheved had a baby, so she decided to put the baby into a basket in the Nile to try to save her baby.

She put the baby carefully into the basket and set the basket into the Nile. The basket floated undisturbed through the Nile. Miraculous, it ended up in the bathing pool of pharaoh’s wife. They carefully picked up the baby and cared for him as if he were their own. They named him MOSES!

One day fifteen years later Pharaoh had a council with his people. And he named Ramses Moses’s brother the ruler of the temples of Egypt. Ramses in joy elects Moses as architect of his temples.

That night Moses saw a woman in the city. She looked familiar, but he didn’t know from where. The woman spoke to him. She said that he was her brother. Moses knew it couldn’t be true. He got troubled by the thought that he was the brother of a poor woman.

One day when Moses was constructing the great pyramids and the sphinx that guarded the great city, he saw a guard whipping a slave on the ground. Moses could bear it no longer. He ran up and shoved the guard off a ledge that was 300 feet tall. The guard fell and died. Moses repented and got mad at himself.

He fled into the desert. He walked for days without water. At the end of that day there was a big sand storm that covered him up. That night his hair was sticking up from under the sand and the rest of his body was covered up. His hair looked like grass. A camel came along and started trying to eat his hair. That woke him up.

When Moses got himself uncovered he saw a little town. When he got there he saw some robbers threatening some girls. He quickly ran to help them. He fought furiously. He finally beat them. A couple of seconds later he fainted.

For a couple of weeks the people in the town took care of him. One day he fell in love with a woman, and a couple weeks later he got married to her and had a happy life.

One day he saw a goat up on a mountain. He followed it. It led him to a strange mysterious cave. He went inside. It was very dark. Suddenly he saw a burning bush. He heard a voice calling him. It said, “MOSES...” “MOSES.......” take your sandals off for where you step is holy ground. Moses did as he was told. Moses answered, what do you want from me? Who are you?

I AM! I AM THE GOD OF YOUR ANCESTORS ABRAHAM AND JACOB........ I HAVE HEARD THE CRIES OF YOUR PEOPLE IN EGYPT. I HAVE DECIDED TO SEND YOU AS MY MESSENGER TO FREE YOUR PEOPLE FROM THE EGYPTIONS. TAKE THIS STAFF TO GUIDE YOU. At those words Moses fled.

He told his wife what had happened. They started to travel to Egypt. When they got there Moses spoke to Ramses the pharaoh to let his people go. Pharaoh refused so Moses worked the seven plagues. After a while Rameses agreed.

The next day the Hebrews set off on their journey. After a couple hours of traveling they ran into the sea. Everyone started resting. SUDDENLY! They felt the earth shake. They looked behind. It was Pharaoh’s army. Moses quickly takes the staff that God had given him. He pierced the water. And the seas split in two, and also out of the sky a fire bolt blocked Ramses’s path.

Moses lead his people through the sea. When the Hebrews got to the other side the firebolt faded. The pharaoh’s army ran in after them. SUDDENLY! The oceans collapsed in and pharaoh’s army drowned.

And that’s how it came to be that the Hebrews were delivered!

THE END.
