It was two weeks before my friend Jimmy’s birthday. One morning very early she called me. The phone rings.
Hello.
Hey April it’s me Jimmy.
What do you want so early in the morning
You know how my birthday is in two weeks.
Well I am going to Egypt.
WHAT!
Yeah want to come.
Sure but do you have the money.
Oh yeah don't worry about it.
That sure sounds like a lot. How much do you have.
About three thousand dollars.
WOW! That is a lot, where did you get all that money?
Well it is kind of a long story.
Go on.
Ok. When I was a small (meaning 6th grade) we studied about Egypt. I loved it so much I asked my mom if we can go there. She said to start saving know. So I did. I spent some of the money. That is why it took me so long. I also was saving up extra money for a future friend to go with me. I decided to go to Egypt for my birthday. I was kind of debating between Egypt and Hawaii. I chose Egypt. Jimmy.
Yeah.
When should I start packing my bags.
Soon.
Well I am still very tired. So I am going to sleep for a little longer.
That’s fine. Just call me when you decide to wake up.
Okay, bye.
See you later, bye.
Jimmy and me were now on our flight. It only costed us $1,200 dollars for both our tickets. Meaning our tickets where only $600 dollars a piece. We thought that wasn’t that bad.
Hey Jimmy.
Hey what.
Do you wish you went to Hawaii.
Yeah, kind of, but I like where I am going and that’s that.
Okay.
A FEW HOURS LATER
Look, we are almost there.
Good I feel like I am going to blow like a time bomb.
Go to the bathroom.
MOAN.
All you want to is go to the library and look for information.
You are absolutely right. Your a genius. I love to study about different civilizations.
No you don't.
I know. I just wanted to make you feel better.
Well you didn’t.
Oh.
Nice try anyway.
Thanks. Well the plane is landing. We are finally in Egypt.
Halaluha.
Where are we going know.
I don’t know, you decide.
Why do I have to always decide.
Well do you want to go to the museum, Or the gift shop.
Gift shop.
Lets go to the museums instead.
That’s fine, but first lets take a picture of this building.
Okay, but do you have the camera.
I don’t have a camera either. That is just great, just great. We came here without a camera. Are we stupid or what.
Wait, I have an idea. If we go to the gift shop. Do you think they will be in there.
What.
The cameras.
Yeah, they should.
Than what are we waiting for........... Lets go.
They walked to the Gift Shop
“April, look I found them. They only have one time use cameras. I know they had some here.”
“How many are we getting.”
“I am going to get five of them. you get how much you want.”
“I am also getting five. How much do they cost.”
“About five dollars a piece. That will be Twenty-five dollars for all five cameras. Meaning for all ten cameras it will be fifty dollars.”
“Holy cow. That’s a lot.”
“That is a lot.”
“I’m going to buy only four.”
“April lets go we are spending to much time here.”
So we bought the cameras and went back to the building to take the picture. After that we went to the museum. We took some pictures there too. Then we went to the library. I found out some cool stuff like this.
The Nile River runs like a ribbon through the vast northern Africa desert know as the Sahara. All along it’s course, the river brings life to dry land. Long ago the Nile’s annual flood was a central part of life in Ancient Egypt. The flooding of the Nile brought both water and rich soil to land along its banks. This gift of the Nile made it possible for the great Egyptian civilization. THE NILE RIVER, During the Paleolithic period, or old stone age, the Sahara, or grassy plain with many trees and animals . The early people living there were hunter-gathers. Then about 5000 B.C. the climate began to change and the Sahara slowly dried up. As the land dried, plants died and animals left in search of water. Over time the rich savanna turned into a harsh desert. Without plants or animals people could not survive in the Sahara. They began to move into the Nile Valley. The Nile Valley is made up of fertile land along both sides of the Nile River. The winding Nile is the longest known river. It flows northward more than 4,000 miles from it main source, Lake Victoria in Central Africa to the Mediterranean Sea. Lower Egypt is made mainly of the Nile Delta. Also pyramids were used for a burial for dead Pharaohs. Inside of the pyramids all over the walls are hieroglyphics which is Egyptian writing.
When ever day people died they mummify them. Meaning they persurve their bodies. Taking out ever organ from their body. Leaving their skin. Then they wrap the rest of the body in a cloth. They put the body in a mummy case with all their belongings like bracelets, earrings, rings, ect.
2 days later
Jimmy lets take a tour around the pyramids.
Fine with me.
So Jimmy and me went to the pyramids. It was dry , bare , lonly. Anything you can think of it’s that.
Jimmy, I think we are lost.
No! At least I don’t think we are.
Can we have any more problem.
No, April I just found a door. Must lead us to someone.
I’m not going in there.
Why not, SCARED.
Yes, for your information.
What can be possibly be scary in there.
I don’t know stuff.
Lets go anyway.
We walked inside crouching because the hallways were so small. I found a room that had tons of hieroglyphics. Jimmy and me took different routines so eventually we got lost.
Jimmy the smart Alec talked me into this. I will show her.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Gosh Jimmy. Cut it out. You freaked me out.
That was the point.
Now I have to tell you something that will send shivers down your back.
What can it possibly be?
A pyramid is a burial for dead pharaohs. The Egyptian believed in afterlife. They can haunt this pyramids like moths to light.
Ahhhhhhhhh! Why didn’t you tell me before.
Because you made me come her. So when we got lost you would get scared.
Jimmy and me heard a faint scream.
You didn’t scare me that time.
Jimmy who are you talking to.
You of course.
Why.
Because you made that nice.
Jimmy I think you are getting kind of ballistic. Kind of what am I talking about You are going ballistic.
What are you talking about.
I didn’t scream.
Sure try to scare me. What you didn’t scream.
No I didn’t.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! they both screamed.
April don’t panic, don’t panic. We just have to follow the path backwards. So if we made any left turns then they will be right turns on the way back. Make sense.
Yes.
Jimmy and me didn’t have the best trip of our lifes, but we got through with it. Jimmy wished that she went to Hawaii. I think that Egypt is very freaky. So I am glad I don’t live there.
THE END
