The year is 206 B.C. every family must take part in the building of the Great Wall of China, well at least one person. my husband has fallen sick and I am the only other person who can take part in it. Life out here is hard sixteen hour days seven days a week.
Wednesday, November 23th the sun is a t high noon the stone bricks are getting heavier and heavier, some of the reason might be because they are putting more in hands. Everybody is working as fast as they can. Today we only have one break, which is a half and hour after nine hours of working. There is only one good thing coming out of this I will be able to win money by arm wrestling. my life will never be the same after this.
“Do you know what?” said my nutty friend named Ping-Pong, “I figure that when we are done with this huge wall that we will be able to see it from the heavens.” Every one looked at him like he had lobsters crawling out of his ears, including me with the staring. “Well it’s just a theory,” he replied.
Thursday, November 24th. Today everyone tried to avoid Ping-Pong because of yesterday’s ballyhoo. More and more women are staring to help work on the wall either because their husbands have fallen sick or else died. All day I either putting concrete on the bricks or making new concrete.
Friday, November 25th Today Ping-Pong heard there was going to be and attack by the Huns. So everyone put on some armor and was loaded with ammo and stuff like that. The rest of the time we spent trying to finish the wall. It turns out after the shift the Huns didn’t attack... but the day wasn’t over yet. At exactly eleven fifty-nine in the evening the Huns attacked, no one was ready for it accept Ping-Pong. The first thing he did was run down to the temple and pray to his ancestors (like that couldn’t have waited) then he went to the palace of the Emperor Wong... he wasn’t there only tied up concubines. As Ping-Pong ran through the city he woke me up, I got up and joined him.
Saturday, November 26th. One o’clock in the morning. Luckily it was only a small invasion, but they still managed to get the Emperor Wong. Ping-Pong and I took matters into our own hands, we snuck back over to where the Huns living at this moment(we found it by following their footsteps). We were sneaking around until we saw Wong. It took us two minutes to get Wong, untie him, and leave. All of us bolted towards the wall, I could see the sun rising that meant that the shift would be starting soon. Ping-Pong and I let the Emperor go back to his palace while the two of us started our shift.
We told everyone about our great highlight of the day like when we found the Huns’ and saved the Emperor nobody believed us, they stared at Ping-Pong and me just as they did with his theory. “You get used to it after a while,” Ping-Pong said.
Soon we were taken off the line of working and were to see the Emperor Wong. As we neared the palace we met the leader of the Huns, “This time it won’t be so easy,” he said as he walked away. Ping-Pong was about to ask me if that was the leader of the Huns but before he could I was running and I was almost out of sight. We found the Emperor in the bathroom tied up sitting on the toilet. Wong was squirming a little. THUMP! He had fallen off the toilet and laid there like a dead slug. Ping-Pong bent over and untied him. All the money was gone. I had and idea.“First we have to almost finish the wall, just enough so people could slip through. I said.
Wednesday, November 27th finished the wall to my liking. That is when I developed the rest of my plan. “We need only enough people to carry the money,” I said in a get moving voice. Ping-Pong and I found twenty buff men and women there was twenty two people on the mission, thirteen buff guys and eight buff women and then there was Ping-Pong with his little pencil arms. The next day we would attack.
Thursday, November 28th 9:00 P.M. We snuck over the wall, there was all twenty two people accounted and ready for battle. As we studied every millimeter of the places the Huns might be. just then we heard a high voice screaming... it was Ping-Pong. “There... over there...,” he said pointing Northeast. Everyone looked over, there was a big footprint.
“The Huns!” I said in a let’s go kick some booty voice. Everyone headed off, with Ping-Pong doing his victory dance. As we kept on going we could see some fire there was many tents and our money in big sacks. As I snuck closer I could see that they hadn’t put anyone on watch duty while they were asleep, so that gave us the advantage.
I snuck up to the money everyone grabbed two big sacks accept for Ping-Pong who took one tiny bag and still though that bag was heavy. Just when we were almost out of sight one of the Huns woke up. “Run!” I said in a loud but quiet voice.
By now it was December 1st I could see the wall, it took us three days to find the Huns and we’ve been running for twenty minutes with the Huns gaining on us slowly. Now the wall is only thirty seconds away, ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five , four, three, two one. The last man (which is Ping-Pong) is through the wall. Luckily the shift had just started and they were ready to seal it up. Just as the first Hun got to the wall Ping-Pong put the last brick on.
That is how I... well mostly me saved China from the Huns. Also how I got the Emperor Wong back from the Huns. Additionally how I ... well you get the picture.
