The Adventure of Rakia
by Caleb Y.

Rakia, the Egyptian prince had everything until one day. Rakia was standing on his balcony and he saw a crowd, not just a little crowd, but a huge crowd of 1,000 or more. They came and tore down the gates. The palace guards would stop them, he thought. But then the palace guards opened the doors for the crowd!

Rakia had about ten minutes to grab a few things. He got an old coat with a hood and his sword. Then he got a pack and put a few more pairs of old clothes, a water gourd, and as many gold things as he could find. He was about to go down the hall when he heard people shouting and running. Rakia ran to his balcony, grabbed a torch and jumped to the ground.

Rakia ran through the city as fast as he could and hid in a dark corner of a storeroom. Rakia fell asleep and he was woken up by a boy about his age.

The boy said, “You better get out of there; they will be coming in soon.”

“Who?” said Rakia.

The boy just pulled Rakia up and took him outside.

“You must not be from around here,” the strange boy said.

“You would have gotten a whipping you would never forget.”

“My name is Sanchez.”

The boy, as Rakia found out was poor, homeless, and had no family. Rakia told Sanchez about his escape from the palace and who he was.

Sanchez didn’t believe him until he showed him his stuff. Rakia showed Sanchez an amulet and Sanchez’s eyes got huge.

“You could buy a house with that!” Sanchez exclaimed.

That gave Rakia an idea. He would buy a house to live in until his father regained control over the palace again. Then Sanchez gave him the bad news that every one in the palace was killed.

Then Rakia shouted, “I will kill the person who killed my family!”

Then Rakia went with Sanchez early the next morning to buy a house.

Rakia and Sanchez looked in every corner of the city and couldn’t find a single house for sale. They came to the docks and found a small boat for sale. It had a lower cabin where they could live and the boat had a nice new sail. So they bought it, or really Rakia bought it.

They sailed just to the outskirts of the city and docked the boat then tied it to a tree. They spent the night in the boat and when they woke up they were starved.

So that day Rakia and Sanchez went out and bought two donkeys and food for two months along with two carts. Then they got everything loaded up and taken back to the boat. Then the boys went back to the city and got two axes for chopping wood and then while Sanchez wasn't looking he bought a sword for Sanchez.

They were walking back to the boat when they overheard three guys talking about how they had killed the royal family and what they were going to do with the money they got. Sanchez had to hold him from running in there.

They took their stuff back to their boat. Then that night Rakia planned with Sanchez how they would kill the three men.

The next day they found the house and memorized how to get there. They spent the rest of the day chopping wood then they filled up one of the carts with wood.

Then on the day after they chopped more wood and filled the next cart up also. Rakia got the sword out that he bought and gave it to Sanchez. Then Rakia told Sanchez to stay at the boat for a while and Rakia ran into the city and got a little dog for Sanchez and gave it to him. The little dog followed Sanchez around every where he went.

This night was the night. Rakia and Sanchez each got on one of the donkeys and hitched up the carts with the wood. Rakia got a torch and went into town. They got to the house and unhitched the donkeys and then set fire to the carts.

They pushed one of the carts right next to the house and the other to the courtyard. They soon had a nice bonfire going. The house caught fire quickly and they heard the yells of two men burning up in the fire. That was only two then they saw the third man just jump out of a window. He saw the two boys and the man grabbed a burning stick out of the fire and charged Rakia. Rakia got his sword out and stopped the blow, but the man kicked his sword out of his hand and threw Rakia against the wall.

Sanchez drew his sword and charged the man. The man threw the burning stick at Sanchez and it hit him in the face. Sanchez dropped his sword and the man threw him next to Rakia. The man was about to stab Sanchez with Sanchez’s sword when Sanchez’s little dog (which he named fluffy) bit the man in the leg. Then Rakia jumped up and pushed the man in the fire.

Sanchez got up and was going to look in the fire at the man, but he tripped and fell in also then Fluffy jumped in after.

Rakia lived happily ever after. The End
