My name is Tricia Grajczyk. I was born with a love for horses and when I was 11 my father finally bought a Mother and baby pair.  They were Morgan/Arab cross with beautiful black and white spots. They were the start to my obsession with horses. I started taking a few lessons and showing when I was about 12 years old on a Gallant Fashion mare named Ferzona and after two years shifted to her 1/2 brother El Jo Mar Gallatin.  These horses gave me the love I have today for the Arabian breed and began a neverending passion to be around horses.
But I guess I would have had nothing had it not been for my father Darwin Ulmer who bought me that mare and gelding.  He was raised around horses on the farm that were used for field work and always had a mount for himself; from stubborn little Shetland ponies to a Quarter Horse who reared on cue.  He never had a thing to do with showing Arabian horses but as they say once the bug bites, the sting never goes away.  After successfully running a Dairy for 20 years he turned the barn into a sandy arena, the milking pit into a wash room and the cooler room was later converted into living quarters for hunters.
I am now 32. I have worked for Sylte Trucking for the past 10 years where I met my husband, Rob of 6 years. Five of those 10 years we also ran the Prairie Rose Restaurant in Roscoe SD.  When our son arrived in 2004 we decided one business was enough to take care of and sold the Restaurant in 2005. I am finally in a position where we run the Trucking business out of our home and I can take on some horses for training.  I have shown many horses in the last 20 years doing very well at shows in SD, ND and MN.  I have done all of the training and riding myself with help from my father and learned alot through trial and error.  I feel I have the necessary skills to teach horses and handlers what they need to know to have a trusting respectful relationship and have fun together.

Other Hobbies

When I'm not on a horse I spend my time with my beautiful son Triton.  At 19 months old he is on the go and so much fun.  We all love to go camping and fishing with friends and spend time in Sisseton SD, where Rob's family lives.  My husband loves to fish and hunt and Thank God he loves to cook.  I enjoy reading just about anything and I decorate cakes too. I actually don't sit still very often.
My father Darwin is much the same and spends alot of time in his shop.  He does just about anything from woodwork ( he engraved a Tru Arabians sign in the driveway) to metal and at Christmas time, he and my mother, Kay light up the farm like a small city with over thousands of lights.  It is quite a site.  Kay is our very own "show stewart". We keeps us in the right classes with the right numbers and of course makes sure we eat.  She loves to bake and cook.

As with lots of horse people we also love dogs and as you can see we have quite a variety.
      Check out my little man.
