Sitting alone with a pale face and a tear in his eye The trucker approached the little barefoot boy; and he too was about to cry. " What makes you so sad " the trucker asked. the little boy then seemed to put on a mask. He could not hide his face it shown all over the place. One little boy in a lone truckstop cafe' no parents in sight to show him the way. The trucker was in for one big surprise the little boy knew what was beyond those skies. A hard life on the road had made the trucker sad for his own son In this little boy he saw he had missed lots of fun Don't feel sad for me said the little boy to him My daddy was a Chaplain and died -left me behind but I have another father and he is kind. " Oh " , said the trucker in a broken voice He was humbled - he had no choice. "Sit down " , said the boy, " and I will tell you about my father at home". The trucker listened intensely as the little boy bagan to explain- He could not hold the tears or refrain! He took the time to listen and was he so glad to have stayed For the first time in this trucker's life he prayed That little boy took him on a journey afar It was so illuminating- brighter than a star. The little boy explained Jesus like a rose The Trucker sat composed. Every word fit him to a Tee Jesus blood was shed for me- He began to tell how the thorns were there But the beauty of that rose none to compare. I t was on a hill far away But the blood stills stands today. A big tear was about to fall from the trucker's face When the little boy said, "Jesus took your place". Like an old master with his painting to share, The little boy closed his eyes to say a closing prayer. He had touched the trucker with wisdom beyond his years, But he left that cafe' with no more fears. He knew that Rose was for him A friend- The Trucker's Rose - saved him from sin! If you ever see a little pale faced lonely boy in a truckstop cafe' don't be so sure he is what you think- he just may show you the Way! |
