After True Rumor disbanded in 1989, Tim and Bobby Lee both remained active in music. Tim is a member of the retro surf-rocking "The Recruders", while Bobby Lee has played live extensively with NYC Irish rockers "The Moonshiners". In 2005 Statue Records re-released True Rumor's CD "Knee Deep in Circumstance", which sparked Steve, Bobby Lee, and Tim to begin playing together again. Lead guitarist Tom Wright soon joined the fold, handling lead guitar and sharing lead vocals with Steve. True Rumor began recording new material with their long-time engineer and co-producer Don Sternecker at Mixolydian Studios. In early 2008 True Rumor released their third CD, titled "Songs from the Turnpike Road" on the MiniTrue Music label. The CD includes 12 new True Rumor songs: "JT", "True Rumor", "Imperfect Circle", "In The Undertow", "I'm Gone", "Taken by Surprise", "Unmistakeable Feeling", "Not a Day Goes By", "Somebody's Girl", "42 Miles", "Blind Leading the Blind", and "If I Stay".
