True Rumor played the New York/New Jersey Nightclub circuit extensively from 1984 through 1989 - Including The Limelight, Stone Pony, The Bitter End, Kennys Castaways, and Maxwells. In addition to their 2 album releases, they released one 45 - "Iowa" b/w "Something More" in 1987 on their own True Music label. True Rumor appeared on Four Compilation releases in the 80's - Their Song "Silent Generation" appeared on "City Tracks Volume One" and "Iowa" appeared on "City Tracks Volume 3", both released by Long Island Indie label Catch Em Records. Their song "Random Fire" was featured on the CD "Greetings From New Jersey" released by Westwood Records. Their song "Winning Track" was featured on the CD "Fresh Kills" released by WSIA - a college radio station in New York.

True Rumor disbanded in 1989, but was that all she wrote ? Not So Fast -
