What's new in the World of Nick?

I dedicate IotW to the people who treat The Nick unfairly.  Usually, there would be a very small list, usually compiled from people who tease me or make a joke that I take too personally, but this week seemed to be 'pick on The Nick' week.

First, GoodYear starts acting up again.  This time, though, they didn't even try to hide how they were ripping me off.  Click here for the story.

Next, the DMV hassled me.  Not too much to relate except rudeness.  Click here.

Now to the good stuff.  Last Tuesday's NaN really shows exactly how unfairly I was treated.  I have no idea why.  Did I inadvertently make Beth angry?  Perhaps Colleen and I were having too much fun amongst ourselves and alienated her?  Maybe she just has a bad attitude?  Somehow I think Beth 'exaggerated' to a manager since I doubt Kyle or Janine, neither of whom saw anything, could possibly have developed psychic sixth senses to detect imaginary drive-thru problems.  Or maybe they were hallucinating.

Then again, something was up.  Why would Kyle S. be having a meeting on a Tuesday night with the big bosses when there really wasn't anything important going on?  Heh. The walls are thin.  But I won't tell.

So I guess I'm used to unfairness.  Work hard all night, behave, do my best, have the second best times in a long while (myself, Shauna, Faith, and E.J., all of whom get along with each other and don't make it our business to get another person written up did much better only because of teamwork), then stay and close fairly fast.... but no, we don't get written up early (because the rule is you have to go home once you get written up).  No, we're mislead into thinking we're innocent.  Then Colleen and I are written up.  Ingenius!  We clean up and get written up.

Also, every other manager and supervisor tells me that if I disagree with a write-up, I do not have to sign it.  I can argue it later.  However, on this particular night, I'm told that I must sign it (with the intention that if I do not, I'll get in even more trouble).  So I do so... so I was lied to.

But the biggest 'unfairness' comes when I put a note stating that I do not agree with the fabricated charges against me.  I note that I only agree with elements of the third charge and then sign my name.

But lo and behold!  Someone 'accidentally' crossed out everything but my signature.

So lookee here!  The Nick agrees that he's an argumentative, thieving, lying bastard who makes a big fuss over things like "No, I'm different from everyone else and I can and I will argue over using DQ cups!  I'm allowed to!  Screw Butch's rules, I insist that I am!"  But you know something?  I never said that.

I bet stupid things like this make the big bosses think I'm some useless goof when I work so hard and efficiently.  All they really see of me is little messages in the book or stories from the 'trusted' blue shirts.  And then a write-up saying that The Nick agrees that he stealed, lied, and wasted dozens of cups gets to the big bosses, and they entertain the idea that The Nick should be fired.

That would really be too bad.  They'd be losing one of their best workers and I'd be losing my job (and I'm so poor!) all because of some irresponsibility on trusted individuals' parts.

So, this week, the theme is unfairness!  I love it.

*Notel: I'm not taking this down so don't even complain to me.  I speak naught but the truth.  Make a big deal about this or ignore.  Better yet, behave and leave The Nick alone.  He's a good guy.  Also, remember, the walls are thin.
