1. How do you go about developing your art work? What techniques/programs/etc. do you use?
First off, thank you!
I use Photoshop to make everything these days. Although a while back I loved Paint Shop Pro. As far as making fan art goes, I don't really have a specific idea of what I want usually. I tend to open up Photoshop and play around with filters, colors, and brushes until I like what I see.
I love Harry's Filters and use the overlay function on practically everything I make. However, I'm trying to get myself to do something different when I try to make something, so I don't fall into the trap of making a piece of fan art that looks like something else that I've already made.
2. What inspired you to create the winning piece?
What inspired me to create that particular banner was actually the lack of inspiration I've been facing lately. I wanted to make something, anything, and I figured making a fic banner for one of my fics would be a good place to start because I love Pacey and Joey and I know what kind of mood I wanted for the banner.
3. As an artist, what are your plans for the future (within the fic world and beyond)?
Future plans? Hopefully, I'll improve and avoid falling into a rut, which has been really hard to manage these days.
4. Would you like to thank anyone? Cheerleaders? Fans? Artists you admire?
I really want to thank Harry because without him, I don't think I'd be making fan art. He's been really generous and supportive. Plus, he makes some really great fan art that helps to motive me. :) I also want to thank the countless other fan artists out there who make some really awesome fan art: Linda, Jaime, Dannie and Alicia. I'm sure there are more, but I'm blanking on the names. And I'd also like to thank everyone out there -- Kimmy, Kristi, Mon, D, Barb, and everyone else for the great feedback and support.
Thank you! :-)
