Physical description:
6', Long shaggy dark hair, Brown eyes, slim features, lean in build

History: Beau Garvey was born near Springfield Missouri in 1843 making him 19 at this time in the story.  He is the second son of his parents. His older brother, Courtnay went MIA during the civil war in early 1862 (and was assumed dead after a suitable time).  His father was killed in action during the skirmish at Springfield in 1861 in which the Union won (though the raid ultimately failed). It was against his own wishes, but abiding by his mothers, that he remove himself from their home, as he was the last male of that line, rather then to go to battle.

He has followed the path of the riders from Missouri to Wyoming partly because Wyoming territory is a neutral ground.  Furthermore,  it enables him to keep in contact with his mother and younger sister through the use of the riders. His mom and sister have not prospered but have managed to stay well and safe. He has managed to make enough to keep him alive, by penning letters for folks who can not "cipher" in exchange for foods or goods.  He has also had some luck as a trader of sorts: furs, guns, knives, and horses- whatever he can procure and trade. His accent and "gentlemanly" ways have made it easy for him to talk his way out of many situations, generally keeping a cool head and a quick line of talk has been to his benefit.

The  war situation made him grow up in a hurry seeming older than his years sometimes, and overly serious at times. His decision to leave and not fight has weighed heavily on him. It was made all the more difficult for him since he had a very neutral stand regarding the war to begin with.

Long , shaggy dark hair. Brown eyes, slim almost elegant features, refined hands calloused by hard work. M'sourri accent.  Tall-ish, a shade over 6 feet and lean.. like a good meal  wouldn't kill him. Has a very good brown quarter horse, named Shiloh after its granddaddy, a quarter mile racing horse. The horse is out of character tor  for him .. a quality at odds with what you might expect a trader to have. He is also accompanied by a pack mule he calls "Please"
