History: Beb was born near Austin, Texas and raised on his family's cattle/horse ranch. His mother died shortly after his eleventh birthday. Afterwards, his father took Ben and Ben's two brothers on cattle drives north with him. By his late teens, he was a top cattle hand and wrangler. He continued in the business even after his father's death, when Ben was 25. He and his brothers thus inherited it, and he picked up his new role as sly businessman. He was approached by an agent from Russell, Majors, and Waddell (creators of the Pony Express) months before the first official ride, but he declined their offer, believing that the express would never work. Eventually, he was pursuaded otherwise and was assigned to be the station master at the Spring Ranch Pony Express Station, in southeast Wyoming.
Recently, Ben has also been appointed to run the new Russel, Majors, and Waddell stage and freight station on the west side of town, at the East Valley Ranch. Additionally, at the end of the summer, Ben married local school teacher Allison Randall.
