Name: Kaylen "Soars Like A Hawk" McLean Age: 22 Sex: Female Position: Express Rider Physical Description: 5'7", 145 lbs., Long straight, thick black hair, Bright green eyes. History: Kaylen's father is the chief of a Comanche tribe, her mother was a white woman named Rose McLean. When Rose's family was killed by a gang of white men who attacked their wagon train, she was the only survivor, hiding herself in a ditch and later saved by the Comanche. She met Kaylen's father and they quickly fell in love. They were married right away. Kaylen's father had been married before so Kaylen has two half-brothers from that marriage. She also has two younger sisters and a baby brother from wives since her mother. Her father sent her and her mother away to live in the white world when she was 15, because a price had been put on their heads by a rival tribe who where determined to kill everyone from her band they could find. Her mother eventually married off well to a storeowner named Joshua Miller. Kaylen was never completely accepted by him because she reminded him of her father and the undying love Rose still had for Eagle Bear. Kaylen never took Joshua's name and kept her mothers. Two years later, the father of a man who wanted to court Kaylen killed her mother and stepfather when he learned that Kaylen had chosen another boy over his son. The boy Kaylen was engaged to was also killed. Kaylen then ran to her father, afraid for her life as well since the crazed father had tried to kill her too. She grieved for her lost loves for two years, experiencing the cultural mourning procedure. When the mourning was over, she chose to leave the tribe and return to living in the white world when she was told to take a husband and could not find anyone she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Her father had picked out a man for her but she just could not imagine settling for one man she didn't even love. Kaylen has a bad temper when her buttons are pushed and loves to kick butt and ask questions later. She has a problem with taking things too much to heart. She tends to believe everything people in her past had said to her, that she is just a dirty Indian and not worthy of love and the good things in life. She had fought so hard her entire life to just fit in, being not only a woman but an Indian woman has forced her to create a very thick shell around her. She honestly just needs someone to love her unconditionally and to be accepted. She is a very confused young woman and recent events have caused her to come very close to a mental breakdown. Unfortunately to whomever she loves, she tries hard to let them think she is not worthy of their love and they must have very good patience. Once they break that shell though, she is a passionate loving woman that when it all breaks down to it just longs to be loved and love. Certain events have caused her to rethink her place in life and her treatment of her friends. She has changed drastically as of late due to many life-changing events. In the early part of summer, Kayle, along with the father Sean Creedon, lost a daughter who was named Rose Creedon. Kayle has been deeply affected by this loss and the immediate breakup with Sean right after. She is changing though, trying very hard to make things better, to change herself for the best. Having friends and a family now that love her, her life is becoming more stable now and hopefully she will be able to get over her loss and move on with her life. Her friends accept her for who and what she is and they are teaching her that she must love and accept herself before she can let anyone in completely and not hurt them in the process. |
