| True Wrestling #3 By XPW Kid Sorry for taking so long to get this third edition of True Wrestling to you. I’ve been very busy of late with stuff including the opening of my new ROH fansite – www.rohfans.cjb.net. I’ve figured that with so much happening with me just now, I can probably do one column for True Wrestling a month. Anyway, this month, I’m going to be looking at Ring of Honor. Well, for about a year and a half now, Ring of Honor has been setting the Independent wrestling scene alight with some top quality matches and its innovative style. The Code of Honor is a fresh addition to the wrestling world. It is nice to see ROH trying to promote wrestling as a ‘sport.’ While the Code of Honor has gotten some bad reviews, it’s certainly no doing any harm to ROH’s product. In-fact, it sets ROH out from the crowd. If there’s such a thing as a bad Ring of Honor show, sure as hell, I haven’t seen it or heard about it. With wrestlers on your roster like American Dragon, Low-Ki, Chris Daniels, AJ Styles and CM Punk, right enough, it’s hard to go wrong. People like that have been battling on ROH shows and spurning out top notch matches which too have set ROH out from the crowd. It is a strange coincidence that with so many promotions trying to emulate ECW, it is the polar opposite to ECW, ROH, which have become what ECW was in many ways. While CZW, XPW and 3PW have all ran shows at the ECW Arena and tried copying ECW to a certain extent, ROH just has a feel to it that ECW had in its early days. I think its pretty obvious that ing of Honor has an excellent future ahead of them. That’s all for now but look out for a much more in-depth article on the top independent promotions in the USA in the next few days. Until then, see ya later. |
