In my dreams I didn’t lose you.
You’re still here by my side.
You share my tears and my laughter
Nothing from you can I hide.

In my dreams you walk beside me
I hold your hand in mine.
You hold me close and kiss me
Your touch is so divine.

In my dreams we sit together
And watch the kids at play.
We talk of how we pray to God
To grant us one more day.

In my dreams we’re close together
We’re not living far apart.
We don’t have to live from day to day
With the hurt that’s in our hearts.

In my dreams I never hurt you
I never made you cry.
I never made you doubt my love
Or ask God how or why.

In my dreams I never lost you
And I pray that when I wake,
You’ll be there when I look for you
Never again for granted to take.
