M45, The Pleiades | ||||||||
Probably the easiest Messier object to spot, the Pleiades isn't really a terribly 'deep' deep-sky object, per se. Often incorrectly misidentified as the Little Dipper by laymen (for undersdtandable reasons), no matter how you look at it, the Pleiades is arguable one of the most beautiful naked-eye objects out there. | ||||||||

(Yes, yes, I realize that I've inadvertantly left out two of the Seven Sisters. My widest angle eyepiece-- 40mm-- couldn't quite squeeze them all into one shot. Maybe I'll try a composite shot soon.) |
