| I would like to take this moment to tell you a little about myself. I am a college freshman attending the University of South Carolina as a Music Education major. I have been playing the trumpet for the past eight years. I have been in marching band for the last four years and in jazz band for the last three years. My senior year, I assumed the position of trumpet line section leader, in which I took great pleasure. I played first trumpet my junior year and my senior year. I recieved best soloist at three marching band competitions my junior year. I played second trumpet my sophomore year in the marching and concert band and third my freshman year. My first two years in jazz band, I played second trumpet and my second year, I was the only second trumpet. I played first trumpet my senior year and again, was the only first trumpet (in jazz band). I had played in the local youth orchestra for three years and I played in GAMAC (a professional orchestra) as a guest student also for three years.
