TRAMPLE DAMAGE WITH TRUMPETEER The New Stuff |
OK, let's start off with the newly-released spoiler for Betrayers of Kamigawa. I just saw it, so I'm learning as you are. When I see a card I like, I will comment on it here. Blazing Shoal. This has some uses. Escape Artist comes to mind, and you don't even need to be playing red. Spikeshot Goblin is another possibility, and I happen to like Spikeshot myself. Blazing Shoal could easily go in a deck with Spikeshot + Goblin Sledder, an obscure but useful Onslaught common, and a bunch of small goblins. Empty-Shrine Kannushi. Umm...Wow. One mana with protection from stuff... colored stuff... A card that comes to mind is Wild Mongrel. Heartless Hidetsugu. This card definitely punishes players with high life totals with a very severe punishment. The downside is that the punishment it gives isn't final. I believe that you should always give a player their Final Punishment. (Hint hint, it's a combo, stupid.) Kitsune Palliator. I'm not sure if I should like this or hate it. It's finally a response to Tremor. But then again, it is a response to Tremor, which is a really good card in my opinion. Regardless, I need four of these for my Cleric deck. Matsu-Tribe Sniper. Gee, this is a hard one. (*lays on sarcasm thick.*) I wonder...if Pemmin's Aura might just be a...combo! Of course, this is actually a pretty convenient card without fast untapping. There are a lot of creatures that you want tapped now, and tapped later, that your opponent may control. Neko-Te. Look! It's a Somnophore! Well, not quite, but sure is close. Prodigal Sorcerer or red pinging creatures come to mind. Phantom Wings. I don't even have a combo for this card. I just put it on here because its flavor text refers to Squee. Reduce to Dreams. Did Wizards of the Coast R&D forget that they just got finished printing an artifact cycle?!? Or that they made Mycosynth Lattice? Fortunately, some people like me didn't. This combo seems pretty stupid, but I mean, think about it! You return everyone's permanents to their hands! It's just so much fun. Shimmering Glasskite. This card would be really awesome if it was a flagbearer. But isn't that what Coalition Flag is for? If you wanted total lockdown, play Rule of Law, and any spell or ability that could target a creature is countered! BOOM! Ward of Piety. Flagbearers are always fun. So are the en-Kor creatures. Either way, your main goal is to get damage aimed at the enchanted creature so that you can deflect it. So, what's the best combo in Betrayers of Kamigawa? Or is it just a matter of taste? Do you really want the answer? You do? Are you sure? Well, scroll down... |
