| I am aware that most of the Founders were Christian, yet they created a nation that was SECULAR. Their philosophies had more to do with the enlightenment than their religion. That was the marvelous thing. The U.S. Constitution trumps any of the state constitutions, and opinions given on Supreme Court cases, either federal or state, are just that: opinions. I see that you did not address the statement from the Treaty of Tripoli, which was actually signed by men who were our founding fathers, not supreme court justices 50 or more years later. Re: <<I heard Bill O'reilly just this week talking about liberals who deny our country was founded upon Christianity. He said if you don't believe that fact, you are either ignorant, or a Christian Hater. We all know he is a extremely knowledgeable person. This is downright laughable. The people who value our Constitution and our nation are NOT "Christian haters." In fact, most of the people I know who stringently say our nation was founded upon the ideals of enlightenment are CHRISTIANS. Yes, most of our nation's citizens are, and have been, Christian, but the government is not. Apparently, Bill O'Reilly, in all his glory, likes to gloss over that fine point. ; i send emails from hotmail since anything I do aol which angers liberals, such as facts , always get reported by liberal whiners and aol is touchy feely and full of thought police in their policy.. Ah.. so you sometimes violate Terms of Service, and object to being called on it? Don't worry.. I'm not reporting you! |
