Mount St. Helens Fictional Story
Washington’s Disaster

A man named John Pearson went to research Washington’s huge volcano, Mount St. Helens.  It was spring of 1980.  He was researching the animals that lived there.  They were all abundant and healthy.  He studied the mountain goats that lived that were transferred from the Olympic Peninsula.  They were well known for their aggressive ways.  Sometimes they butted hikers right down the mountain.  There is a lake called Spirit Lake at the bottom.   When people remember the lake they always mention how clear it was. They say you could see straight to the bottom.  Spirit Lake basin was blanked with ancient fish.  John decided to study the fish.  Upon studying the lake he found no fish.

John Pearson did not know it was coming…….no one did.  While he was out on a hike studying deer he heard a big noise.  He looked up and saw a huge cloud of smoke rushing towards him.  Terrified he ran for his life, in the other direction.  Lava flowed in all directions, covering the city.  John franticly tried to find a quick escape route.

He found a 4-wheel drive Ford EXPLORER abandoned on a roadside.  He quickly hopped in hoping that he could se where he was going through the thick clouds of ash.  He hot-wired the SUV and begun driving through the hot lava.

The tires on the vehicle were melting quickly as John drove through the path of the lava.  He found a car phone and called his assistant back in Oregon.  He drove to Portland on his axles.  Once there he rushed into the lab and turned on the news, writing every detail of the terrifying ordeal.  Once the lava cooled most everything around the mountain was decimated.
