Bio: The only other origional member of TryMe, Jacob has always been a little boy stuck inside the body of a superhero.  One of the rocks that TryMe could build itself  on, Jacob is always there to pray for you, and always there to stick up for Mike. Jacob had been playing guitar for a little less than a year when Jason and former TryMe member Ryan Ebling asked him to join the band as bass player.  He accepted, and worked hard at filling the role.  The rocky beginnings saw a loss of a new guitarist and the addition of now guitarist Mike. And even though Jacob was a little dissapointed at first--having to give up the guitar--he turned the role of bass player into his own.  Jacob's style started with a immitation of the primitive bass used in the '50 rock and roll. Through the years, and through many different style changes, Jacob has found his own unique niche. By incorporating jazz, funk, and counter melodic rock into his style, Jacob gave the bass a deffinate "TryMe" sound.  When Brad left the band, Justin's drumming style was something completely new.  But Jacob addapted quickly, and the two of them have helped to give so many of TryMe's songs a driving force.  His early stage presence had a quietness that definately did not fit his machismo exterior.  But to see him on stage today is to see a completely different musician.  With gloved feet, to wearing a space helmet, to playing with his toes, he is quite a spectacle to behold.  But, sometimes good things can't always stay the same.  College came for the motley crew. With Mike, Jason, and Justin in Minneapolis, and Jacob attending Trinity International the members of the band tried to renew themselves and become better musicians individually.  But the band and the fans always looked forward to TryMe getting back together to do shows when the boys gots the chance. . . To sum it up, "I can't imagine a TryMe without him; it would be too weird."  Although that statement might sound odd to most, to the rest of the band it's echoed one hundred and ten percent.  Jacob Berghuis, superhero? . . .Super-rocker.
