Simian Shootout
This is a strategy designed to give you some knowledge of the level and
achieve a fairly high score.
Using this outline, you can earn any of the medals, even an easy 2K for platinum.
Some Important Notes:
I’ll divide the level into two halves, the beginning and the end (how original).
The directions are taken from the viewpoint of WHEN YOU START THE LEVEL.
Remember that every monkey’s trajectory is random.
The random sections are completely random; there are not a ‘set’ of random monkeys.
‘One at a time’ means each monkey in the series will come right after the other is gone.
‘Together’ means two monkeys will come at the same time.
‘Before it breaks’ means that you should wait to shoot the monkey until it’s going to hit the
wall or floor and break. Got all that? Good.
Now onto the part you’re looking for…
The Beginning
1.
2 from left, one at a time – If you’re going up to the bell
(I recommend doing so), you will miss these first two monkeys.
Otherwise, wait until the first one is just about to break, shoot it,
then fire a double shot to where the next one is coming on the left.
2.
2 from right, one at a time - Now that you’re up by the bell,
just as you come out, look to the right and hit that monkey as it is about to break.
Again, fire a double shot to where the next one is coming from on the right.
If you miss it on your first shot, wait until it’s going to break, shoot it and then
quickly spin around to hit the one from the center.
3.
2 from center, one at a time – Depending on your success in step 2,
this step will vary. If you get it to work where you combo those two,
then these should be two easy 75s. Otherwise, it’s a 175, and then a 75.
4. Random section, 3, one at a time – To get a high score, this section makes or breaks an otherwise perfect run. A good situation is for a monkey to come from the left or right, shoot it before it breaks, and then have one come from the center. Then, a monkey should come from the left or right, shoot it before it breaks and lead into step 5. If you are unlucky as being unable to combo the monkeys (i.e. the first and last monkeys from the center) just shoot them. These scores can be made up for in step 5.
5. 2 from left, together – Turn towards the left and take out the first monkey, and then the second for a x3 combo. If you get an unlucky random set, wait to shoot these 2 monkeys until you can hit the first and second one before they break (you’ll need to hit the first before the usual break spot). Try to get the second one at the very last moment before it breaks. Then chain it to step 6.
6. 1 from right and left, together – Just hit these two monkeys whether they are at the end of the combo or they are a combo in themselves. Sometimes you can chain it to step 7.
7. Random section, 3 sets of 2 together – As these are random, there is not really a good or bad situation. However, it is possible to get a chain started in this section.
The End (20 second rush)
1. 1 from: right, left, right, left – Shoot the monkeys in the order listed
2. 1 from: center, right, left – Shoot the monkeys in the order listed
3. 1 from: center, right, left (same as 2) – Shoot the monkeys in the order listed
4. 3 from center – Shoot the three monkeys. Very High Score Note: If you want a very high score, distance these three monkeys so you can get all 500s on them AND so that you can keep the chain going to step 5.
5. 2 from right and left, together – Hit any monkeys you can with the order listed. A chain continuation is possible from step 5.
