Katherine Sophia Dupy Family and Descendants

    Katherine Sophia Dupy was born on July 4, 1847 in Eaton, Preble County, Ohio and died on May 7, 1926 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa.  On January 4, 1872, she married James Steele Hedrick in Lee County, Iowa. He was born on March 9, 1843 in Des Moines County, Iowa and died on Jamuary 16, 1923 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa.  Both Katherine and her husband, James Steele Hedrick are buried in the Hickory Grove Cemetery outside of Summitville, Lee County, Iowa.  In the mid-1870's,  Katherine and James ventured out to Crescent City, California.  It is unknown how long they stayed, but by 1899 they had returned to Lee County, Iowa where they remained until their deaths.  They were the parents of three sons, namely:

    
James Franklin Hedrick, was born on January 5, 1873 at Summitville, Lee County, Iowa and died on November 4, 1941 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa.  On February 14, 1900, James Franklin Hedrick married Grace Eleanor Petty, daughter of Charles A. Petty and Mary McKinney both of Lee County, Iowa.  They were married at Montrose, Lee County, Iowa by E.A. Hastings, minister of the Christian Church.  Witnesses to the wedding were Charles A. Petty, the bride's father and Albert Steele Hedrick, the groom's brother.

    
Albert Steele Hedrick, was  born on May 11, 1874 at Crescent City, California and died on June 4, 1957 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa.  On October 11, 1899 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa, Albert Steele Hedrick was married to Katherine P. Luft, daughter of Adam Luft and Elizabeth Lichterberger, both of Lee County, Iowa.  They were married by A.F. Sanderson and the witnesses were John Calvin Hedrick, the groom's brother and George A. Luft, the bride's brother.

    
John Calvin Hedrick, was  born on June 23, 1876 at Crescent City, California.  His death is unknown.  John Calvin Hedrick married Birdie Amanda Smith on February 22, 1900 at Summitville, Lee County, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Henry and Rachel (Van Ausdall) Smith of Lee County, Iowa.  They were married by E.A. Hastings and the witnesses were Frank Hedrick and J.H. Coulter.   He married a second time to Dill Worthington, but nothing more is known about this marriage.
