Tshombe's service was held on a beautiful sunny day. The weather came as a surprise considering that it's usually snowing in Washington in February. Tshombe's mother, Linda, left the funeral arrangements up to Baker Hensley, one of Tshombe's best friends. It was decided that the service would be held at Alpental at the Hyak Lodge. The turnout of Tshombe's loved ones was tremendous. Baker gave the Eulogy but many took turns sharing their funny stories, memories and comments about T's short life and how he touched everyone who knew him. The room was completely filled with friends and family. In Tshombe's own words "my friends are my family" spoke volumes throughout the service. After the service we took Tshombe's ashes to the very top of Alpental and skattered them into the wind. Just as Tshombe's spirt flew into the air - a bird rose and took flight. It appeared out of nowhere. It is my belief that Tshombe was with us on that day - that he was guiding us - telling us that we were doing the right think and that he was at peace with the world now. |
