Day two I set up camp in Areponapuchi, the only town built beside the canyon rim. Day three I woke at 5am and followed the canyon rim south for six hours, witnessing mind-blowing scenery of jagged canyon peaks and plateaus. The Urique river twisted through the canyon some 1500 meters below me. It was definitely one of the most memorable hikes I have ever done. Day four I spent in Creel. Day five to Batopilas by bus, falling from an altitude of 2338m to 495m through multiple canyons. Day six I woke at 5am to hike up onto a canyon wall, an eleven hour round-trip. |

One section of the trail was a mere two feet wide, cliff above me, an
800+ meter drop below me -- my knees were shaking as I crossed this
part of the trail. To my amazement, I passed two inhabited caves
carved into the rock here. Can you spot the trail and the caves?
