Always eager to capture a better context of cities like Shanghai on film, I take to 'skyscraping' when I see an opportunity.

In this case I walked past security guards on the main floor of a apartment building, jumped the elevator to the 30th floor (penthouse suites) and began snapping pictures of Shanghai's skyline. A few minutes later security followed on my heels and kindly escorted me out of the building.

But that was okay because by then I had managed to get what I wanted. This picture shows Shanghai's Old Town in the foreground, with the rising towers of Pudong in the background.
