Above: jaguar kitty-cat of the La Paz zoo.

Below: a male condor tries to impress a lady. It's obviously tough everywhere.

Third picture: miniature maggot llama corpse in La Paz market. Buy one and conduct all sorts of perverted, black jungle magic to appease the spirits.

Fourth picture: a distinctive face.

Fifth and last picture: the most dramatic piece of work in the La Paz Art Museum, titled "Crucified Miner" by Hans Hoffman. Made entirely by mining equipment it symbolizes what some estimate to be as high as eight million indigenous miners who have died in the mines of Potosi, many of them at the hands of the Spaniards under colonial rule.
