From perched on high this is a picture of the Yangtze river city of Wushan. My initial Yangtze river experience lasted four days, on a ferry straight through from Yueyang to Chongqing. The next summer, however, I spent two weeks ferrying from town to town along the length of the Yangtze from Chongqing to Yichang. The towns I visited from points A to B were: Chongqing (28 days), Wangjiang (1 day), Changshou (2), Fuling (1), Fengdu (1), Zhongxian (1), Wanzhou (2), Yunyang (1), Wushan (2), Badong (2), and Yichang (2). Due to a life and character all its own the Yangtze river remains as one of the most memorable and vivid experiences of the eighteen months I traveled China.
