Tobacco Caye, Belize

Situated in the midst of the second largest barrier reef in the world, the first picture is an aerial shot of the island with the reef wrapped around it. Second picture is taken from one of the docks. Tiny in size, with only a handful of tourists on the island at the time, the four days I spent here were great! It was a $10 US boatride to the island from Dangriga (mainland town) and $25 US per night to stay, which included 3 meals a day.

In the waters surrounding the island I saw large stingrays, tarpon, cute porcupine fish, many other kinds of fish, 111 newly hatched baby turtles, lobsters, sharks -- and the final bonus, upon departure a pod of dolphins came up and circled our boat!
