On the boat I met a local youth and his brother who were from Requena. During my stay in Requena I paid his uncle to take me out on the river to swim with pink dolphins. Cost of gasoline: $1.66

Ferry dock of Ucayali river in Pucallpa. Here I boarded boat Henry V for a four night float to Requena. The boat fare was approximately $23 CAD, which includes three (basic) meals per day served on the boat. Though getting a cabin is an option, I chose to buy and string up a hammock with the locals on the upper deck.
