Having seen very little of the terrain during the climb up (1am to 5:45am) other than a few meters around us with the headlamps, descending was a visual treat. As one reason, I purposely wanted to remain at the crater for more than an hour to allow other climbers to descend before us and thus provide context to the pictures I wanted to capture.
