The two doohickies on the bunker are tear gas launchers. I don't ever remember any of them working well. When we were on Hill 953, about the time when Lt. John Pickett was killed, we used one. It shot the gas canisters out about 50 feet and the gas just rolled back to us. I grabbed my gas mask and put it on to find out it didn't work. Really sucked. I wandered around for several minutes before someone grabbed me an pulled it off my face.
