Computers are the Curse of the 20th Century This is my award winning speech from my seventh form year. Can you believe I got top 7th form speech with this. A-mazing
I feel that computers are the curse of the 20th century because of the power they have over the people of the world. People are drawn in by the capabilities of computers and the access they have to worldwide information, But there are major drawbacks to computers and here are some of the examples of damage they have done to people around the world. 11% of Norwegians, one of the biggest percentage of computer users in the world, have nervous ticks or mutated eye disfixiations. Studies have shown that 62% of Norwegian homes have computers. This means that over 17% of computer users in Norway have eye related problems from computers. Obesity is also a problem related to computers which has grown by 22% in the past ten years in the country of Bulgaria. Funnily enough the number of computers has grown by 22% also, in the same time frame, and country. An amazing amount of Hungarians have had or still have a bad case of philangitas and metacapulas stress from the over use of keyboards. It is a well known fact that Hungarians have the longest words in the worldand the most letters in their alphabet which means that they are the biggest typers in the world. Computers have even led to mass beatings in Slovakia. In the Slovakian culture, if kids under 16 see naked adult bodys, they are grouped together and beaten by the town elders until the punishment is deemed sufficient. Because of the level of pornography on the internet, kids in Slovakia are getting they're arses kicked whenever they are caught out. All of these factors put together means that the people of this century are wasting away due to the fact that computers are running their lives. Toxodole Gravy, a 33 year old from Yugoslavia, died from sitting at a computer for over 40 hours straight. He ended up having an epileptic seizure and cracked his head open on the moniter when he lost his balance on his chair and fell. Another case is when Sven Jorgan from sweden became parralized in the arms after typing virtually non-stop for almost two weeks. Mungvoloe Buccalla, the first person to own a computer in Morroco, was so angry with the lack of power that his CPU possessed that he punched a hole in the computer and slit his wriston the screen glass and bled to death. How can we trust our children with computers when incidents like these are happening all over the world. As you can see from these examples, is that soon millions of computers will be irreversibly crippled due to the curse of the 20th century, the computer.
