Compound materials are commonly used in machine, electronic and packaging industries.  With the tremendous growth in size of these industries in recent decades, the utilization of compound materials also has grown significantly and waste products from used compound materials are inevitable.  Typical compound material waste comprises the following four categories: • Metal and metal • Plastic and plastic • Metal and plastic • Mineral compounds with metal and/or plastic components. Following examples of compound materials: • Under floor heating pipe – it is a type of manufacturing waste, usually results from renovation of old buildings and building trade. It is usually made out of aluminum, copper, plastics, lead, tin, gold, silver, platinum and other precious metals. • Electric cabling – it is usually resulted from the replacement of electrical infrastructure in buildings. It is usually made out of aluminum, copper and plastics. • Bottle caps – it is collected from waste disposals, bottle returns, and glass recycling facilities. It is usually made out of aluminum and plastics. • Aluminum compounds – it is a type of manufacturing waste. It is resulted from building renovations in the building industry.  It is usually made out of aluminum and plastics. • Electronic scrap – It is a type of production waste and end-of-life domestic waste. It is usually made out of aluminum, copper, plastics, lead, tin, gold, silver, platinum, steel, wood, glass etc. •   – it is a type of presorted waste and domestic waste. It is usually collected from the packaging industry. It is usually made out of aluminum and plastics.
