Battery is power source for most of today’s hand-held electronic devices.  The high consummation of battery means that accumulation of solid waste, thus recycling of battery becomes necessary to the protection of our living environment.  Due to its complex chemical content, the recycle process of battery is also a complex one.  To learn about the actual battery recycling process, please visit our section Current Recycling Processes – Battery.

LEAD/ACID BATTERY RECYCLING

a.) Auto & Truck Lead/Acid Scrap – Whole wet lead/acid batteries.
b.) Drained Lead/Acid Battery Scrap – Drained Lead/Acid Battery Scrap consist of whole drained lead/acid batteries.  May contain plastic or rubber cases, but may not contain wooden, metal or glass cases.
c.) Steel Cased Lead/Acid Battery Scrap – Steel Cased Lead/Acid Battery Scrap consist of whole wet lead/acid batteries in steel cases, may include industrial forklift batteries.
d.) Glass Cased Lead / Acid Battery Scrap – Glass Cased Lead/Acid Battery Scrap consist of whole wet lead/acid batteries encased in glass.  May include tele-communication batteries.


NICKEL CONTENT BATTERY RECYCLING

a.) Mixed Nickel Content Battery Scrap – Mixed Nickel Content Battery Scrap consist of assorted sizes of common household sorted Nickel/Cadmium Batteries and Nickel/Metal Hydride, sorted to be free of common alkaline batteries.  May include spent rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries.  May not include wet cell batteries.
b.) Nickel/Metal Hydride Battery Scrap – Nickel/Metal Hydride Battery Scrap consist of assorted sizes of common household sorted Nickel/Metal Hydride Batteries, sorted to be free of common alkaline batteries.  May include spent rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries.  May not include wet cell batteries.
c.) Dry Cell NiCd Battery Scrap – Dry Cell NiCd Battery Scrap consist of assorted sizes of common household sorted Nickel/Cadmium Batteries, sorted to be free of common alkaline batteries.  May include spent rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries.  May not include wet cell batteries.
d.) Wet Cell NiCd Battery Scrap – Wet Cell NiCd Battery Scrap consist of whole wet cell Nickel/Cadmium Batteries.


OTHER BATTERY RECYCLING
a.) Mixed Dry Cell Battery Scrap – Assorted common dry cell batteries and may include mixed alkaline (carbon/zinc) and nickel content batery including type D, C, AA, AAA, 9 volt ...etc.
b.) Alkaline Battery Scrap – Alkaline Battery Scrap (dry cell) consist of sorted common dry cell carbon/zinc "flashlight" batteries and may include type D, C, AA, AAA, 9 volt ...etc.
c.) Button Battery Scrap – Button Battery Scrap (watch/hearing aid style) consist of assorted common round button style batteries commonly used in hearing aids and wristwatches.
d.) Lithium Content Battery Scrap – Lithium Content Battery Scrap consist of assorted batteries that contain lithium or lithium alloys.
e.) Mercury Content Battery Scrap – Mercury Content Battery Scrap consist of assorted Mercury (Hg) content batteries that have been sorted from other types of batteries for the purpose of mercury recovery.
f.) Gel Cell Battery Scrap – Gel Cell Battery Scrap consist of sorted gel filled batteries, and may include common gel cell motorcycle batteries 12 & 24 volt commercial emergency back-up lighting batteries.  May not contain liquid filled batteries.
