Abit about the character:
The main hero of the franchise, He's cocky and has a bit of an attitude but he loves adventure. Capable of running at super sonic speed's, he uses this ability to thwart the evil Dr. Eggman( Dr. Robotnik) and his evil plans of world domination. Determined and unstoppable when it come's to protecting his friends, this is one guy you want on your side!

Random fact:
Sonic's sun sign is cancer.

Name: Miles "Tails" Prower
Age: 4 (SatAM) 8 (sonic heroes and sonic jam)
Species: Fox
First Appearance: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on Sega Genesis/ Mega Drive oct. 1992
Abit about the character: The best friend and travel companion of our hero, he's got an IQ strong enough to rival Eggman's and with his Technical and Mechanical skills he has become invaluable to the group. Sometimes cowardly, but when the situation really calls for it, Tails can turn in to a very brave and dependable little fox. Dont mis-judge him, He's got skills. His ability to fly by utilizing his 2 tails like a helicopter rutter has helped sonic through a few tough situations.
Random fact:
It is rumoured that Tails was originally intended to be a girl, apparently he looked to much like a boy to the kids that he was test screened on so they changed him to a boy, this rumour has not yet been confirmed.

Name: Knuckles The Echidna
Age: 16 (sonic heroes)
Species: Echidna
First Appearance: Sonic The Hedgehog 3 on Sega Genesis/ Mega Drive 1994
Abit about the character: Hot headed and possesses one seriously powerful punch, Knuckles is the guardian of the Master Emerald, the power source holding his home, Angel Island, afloat in the sky. He possesses 2 sharp knuckles on both hands (thus his name "knuckles") which alow him to dig and climb. Quick to temper and not to bright, it is not advised to annoy him. Formerly a rival of sonic's, now one of his best friends. Loyal to his herritage of echidna's, this is one echidna you dont mess with.
Treasure hunting is one of this guy's favourite past times.

Random fact:
The Sonic movie ( 2 episode OAV for japanese viewers) was the only time knuckles had been shown wearing a hat, it was a cowboy hat , he also wore sunglasses, and carried a napsack like bag for treasure hunting.

Name: Amy Rose

First Appearance: Sonic The Hedgehog CD on Sega CD/ Mega CD 1993
Abit about the character: The self proclaimed girlfriend of sonic, even though sonic doesn't feel the same way, she follows sonic around relentlessly trying to win his affections but ultimatly fails, while sonic zipps off and leaves her in his dust. However, if ever Amy is in trouble Sonic always comes rushing to save her. Possessing an anger management problem and a big hammer, its usually not wise to tick her off, or any women with a hammer for that matter...

Random fact:
Amy's hidden talent is that she can read torrot cards, this fact is mentioned in the sonic the hedgehog cd manual, however it has yet to be shown in any other form besides that text in the manual, no sonic game has shown the use of this talent.

Name: Cream the Rabbit
Age: 6 (sonic heroes)
Species: Rabbit/ Bunnie
First Appearance: Sonic Advanced 2 on Gameboy Advanced 2003
Abit about the character: Very intelligent and polite, she just wants to play with her friend "Cheese" the chao. Completely intolerant of bad guys, she will transform from playful little girl to powerful commander of her chao "cheese" and sicks him on all things evil , beware the wrath of cheese.

Random fact:
When playing sonic advanced 2 and playing as cream, at any time during a stage, press and hold up to watch cream eat a vanilla ice cream cone.

Name: Dr.Robotnik/ Dr.Eggman

Abit about the character: Possessing an IQ of 300, the Doc is a genius. Fiendishly turning animals into robots that do his bidding, Dr. Eggman dreams of conquoring the world. Allways coming up with plans and building machines to defeat his nemesis Sonic, has so far failed every attempt. Sometimes even thwarted by his own creations. (ei, Metal Sonic in Sonic heroes)

Random fact:
Dr.Eggman's role model was his great grandfather Professor Gerald Robotnik.

Name: Shadow The Hedgehog
Age: Unkown ( over 50)
Species: Hedgehog
First Appearance: Sonic Adventure 2 on Sega Dreamcast (2001)
Abit about the character: Usually quiet and contemplative, Shadow's past is a complete mystery even unto himself. Possessing only the knowledge that he was created by Professor Gerald Robotnik aboard the space colony ARK more then 50 years ago, and forever contemplative of his promise to his only friend Maria Robotnik, whom was shot and killed by the G.U.N. Army aboard the ark, Shadow roams in search of answers to his missing past and to seek revenge for maria's death. He is undecided on weather or not he wants to be a good guy. More of a renegade, shadow does what he wants, when he wants, with his ability to use the chaos emeralds to use chaos control and warp time and space, it is advised to stay on his good side.

Shadow was the third character in the sonic franchise to get his own game, knuckles was the second in "knuckles Chaotix" on the sega 32x and tails was the first in 2 game gear games "tails adventure" and tails' sky patrol"

Name: Jet the Hawk

Abit about the character: Known as the "Legendary Wind Master", Jet leads a group of theives called "the Babylon Rogues", and with a reputation for being the greatest Extreame Gear user he gave sonic a run for his money in Sonic Riders. He also carries around a mysterious box that holds the key to Ancient Babylon.

Random fact:
Jet is a decendant of the Ancient Babylonians, originating on a floating island, not unlike Angel island, that was hidden under the sands in a desert where it was lost for nearlly half a centary.

Name: Wave the Swallow

Species: Swallow

Abit about the character: Another mechanical Genius in the sonic universe, Wave specializes in Extreame gear. She is sassy and quick to make fun of those with lower abilities with Extreame Gear. Wave is also a memeber of the Babylon Rogues

Random fact:
Wave is a decendant of the Ancient Babylonians. An Extreame Gear specialist, she luaghs at Tails' first attempt to build an Extreame Gear(a Hover board of sorts)

Name: Storm the Albatross
Age: Unkown
Species: Unknown (a bird of some sort)
First Appearance: Sonic Riders (Gamecube,ps2,xbox) (2006)
Abit about the character: Storm is mostly the Muscle in the Babylon Rogues, not very bright and slow in movement. Tends to stutter when flustered. Quick to temper much like Knuckles, Storm likes to start fights with people.

Random fact:
Storm is a decendant of the Ancient Babylonians. Storm is Jet's right-hand man in the Babylon Rogues and carries out the Dirty work of the group.

Name: Fang the Sniper

Species: Weasel (some accounts say he's a Coyote)
First Appearance: Sonic Triple Trouble on Game Gear
Abit about the character: Fang has only appeared in 2 games to my knowledge, Sonic triple Trouble and Sonic the Fighters(Sonic Championships in USA). He Carries around a little popgun, not much is known about his personality. Fang is an Assassin and a theif.

Fang is known as Nack the Weasel in the USA and Canada

Name: Bark the Polarbear
Age: Unkown
Species: Polarbear
First Appearance: Sonic the Fighters on the sega32 arcade system
Abit about the character: Not much is known about Bark, no storyline has ever been given, other than he held the yellow Chaos Emerald in Sonic the Fighters, he moves slow but hits really hard with his small legs and big arms. Nothing is known of his personality or origin( north/south pole?).

Name: Bean the Dynamite

Species: Duck
First Appearance: Sonic the Fighters on the sega32 arcade system
Abit about the character: Not much is known of Beans personality, all we know is that he loves to chuck bombs at people, so he's obssessed with Earth shattering ka-booms.
Random Fact:
Bean made a small cameo appearance in the sega title "Virtua Striker 2" in 1997.

Name: Professor Gerald Robotnik
Age: Unkown/ also deceased

First Appearance: Sonic Adventure 2 on the Sega Dreamcast (2001)
Abit about the character: The professor is Dr.Eggman's Grandfather and the original creator of Shadow the Hedgehog. A scientist aboard the space colony ARK, with his duaghter Maria. After Maria's death at the hands of the G.U.N. army, he went mad and his experiments went from helping humanity to destroying it, later luanching the ARK towards the earth as a last-luagh revenge for the slaying of Maria and his own Execution. This attempt failed as it was thwarted by Shadow and Sonic.
Random Fact:
The Professor left detailed calculations of how the ARK would be hurled at the Earth on his prision cell wall where he was held on Prison Island.

Name: Maria Robotnik

First Appearance: Sonic Adventure 2 on the Sega Dreamcast (2001)
Abit about the character: The duaghter of Professor Gerald, and only friend of Shadow the Hedgehog. Upon her death her dieing words while ejecting Shadow from the ARK were to tell him to give hope to humanity and save them. "To give them a chance to be happy".
Random Fact:
Were it not for Maria, Shadow may not have survived the ARK incident, She may very well be the only one who knew what Shadow's personality was like before her death gave him a thirst for revenge.

Name: Vecter the Crocodile

Abit about the character: Vecter is the Head honcho of the Chaotix Dectective Agency. If normal means are not present then Vecter can be counted on to use brute force. Always seen wearing his headphones, Vector loves music.
Random Fact:
Vecter will take almost any job so long as its legal and the pay is right, however he'll take some unpaid jobs due to his charitable nature, such as finding lost toys for crying children.

Name: Espio the Chamleon

Abit about the character: A very oppinionated and self-obssessed member of the Chaotix Detective Agency. He possess great skill in the way of the ninja and can cloak himself to his surroundings using his chameleon colour changing abilities. Often seen with a larg ninja shuriken.
Random Fact:
Despite being militaristic, Espio is actually quite laidback and quiet. He is usually the one to get Vector and Charmy back on track when their attenion spreads to far from the task at hand.

Name: Charmy the Bee
Age: 6 (Sonic Hereoes)

First Appearance: Knuckles Chaotix on the Sega 32x
Abit about the character: Young and very hyper. He has a tendantcy to be scatterbrained and likes to fool around. He is the 3rd member of the Chaotix Detective Agency.
Random Fact:
Charmy is neither clever or strong, Charmy is a member of the agency becuase he's excellent at following hunches and uncovering hidden objects. He is seen more as a cute mascot then a full fledged member by Vector and Espio.

Name: Mighty the Armidilo
Age: Unkown
Species: Armadilo
First Appearance: Knuckles Chaotix on the Sega 32x
Abit about the character: Not much is known of Mighty's personality. No story or background outside of living on Carnival Island. A friend of knuckles and the Chaotix. Fast on his feet and able to jump off of walls, Mighty is a partner in Knuckles Chaotix most often used by players.
Random Fact:
Mighty has never been in any other game and most likely never will be as his creator has left Sega. Mighty is a fan favourite and is missed in the newer games by many fans. Mighty was also the other design for sonic back during the production of sonic 1. Mighty could have been what we know as sonic today.

Name: Heavey (left) and Bomb(right)
Age: Unkown
Species: Robot
First Appearance: Knuckles Chaotix on the Sega 32x
Abit about the character: Just 2 characters that were pretty much worthless. No personality was ever given to them. No skills really either. Heavey is just heavey and slows you down when partied with him and Bomb just blows up if you get hit.
They are some of Robotnik's Badniks apparently.
Random Fact:
These two were only added to Knuckles Chaotix to balance out the " claw grab random character select" machine upon selecting characters and were ment to make it harder to complete levels, but all they really did was just flat out suck. No fan really likes them. They have not been seen since KC.

Name: Blaze the Cat

First Appearance: Sonic Rush on Nintendo DS (2005)
Abit about the character: Blaze is the Guardian of the Sol Emeralds and resides in an alternate Universe. At first she was with drawn and antisocial but later became friends with Cream the Rabbit and Sonic the Hedgehog. She possess the ability to minipulate fire which she uses to protect herself and the Sol Emeralds.
Random Fact:
Blaze is normally calm and level headed but is actually trying to hide her true feelings, she feels that if she shows people whats she's really like she'll be seen as weak.

Name: Lumina
Age: Unkown
Species: Dream Fairy
First Appearance: Sonic Shuffle on Sega Dreamcast (2001)
Abit about the character: Lumina lives in a dreamworld called Maginary world, she calls Sonic and friends to her world to save it from collapsing at the hands of Void. She is strong willed and is the protector of the Prcioustones.(Precioustones are peices of the shattered Perfect Precioustone, which is a magical gem that sustains Maginary world, with out it Maginary world would cease to exist) She looks chilidish but is actually rather mature and full of energy. She never gives up no matter how tough it gets.

Lumina was actually friends with Void (see Voids profile further down the page)

Species: Dream Fairy
First Appearance: Sonic Shuffle on Sega Dreamcast (2001)
Abit about the character: Void seeks to destroy the presioustones for unknown reasons, He is the mysterious quiet type, not much is known about him except that during sonic's adventures in maginary world he always appeared one step ahead of everyone to destroy the presioustone.
Random Fact:
Void was actually friends with Lumina (see Lumina's profile further up the page)

Name: Metal Sonic
Age: Unkown
Species: Robot duplicate of Sonic
First Appearance: Sonic CD on Sega CD (1993)
Abit about the character: Metal is Sonic's robotic clone created by Robotnik. He shares Sonic's memeries, and abilities. Cold and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to stop sonic becuase he's convinced he is the one and only real sonic and that sonic is the fake.
Random Fact:
Metal is a fan favourite and has been featured in many games, Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic the fighters, Sonic heroes, Sonic Drift 1 and 2 to name a select few with many aother appearances. Metal has never been fully defeated.

Name: Mecha Sonic
Age: Unkown
Species: Robot duplicate of Sonic
First Appearance: Sonic and Knuckles on Sega Genesis (1994)
Abit about the character: Mecha is another attempt at a robotic sonic clone created by Robotnik. He is an updated version of Metal. Never speaks, cold and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to stop sonic. He was the first robot of the sonic universe to make use of the Chaos emeralds and use a Super form.
Random Fact:
Mecha was featured as the last boss to Knuckles story in Sonic and knuckles, he makes use of the Master Emerald on the Floating island and turns in to Super Mecha Sonic as a final boss.

Name: Rouge the Bat

Species: Bat
First Appearance: Sonic Adventure 2 on Sega Dreamcast (2001)
Abit about the character: Rouge is a sneaky Jewl theif whom moonlights working for the president. Obssessed with jewls, she wants to have them all. Skilled with digging up the dirt with her feet and finding out information she would also make a skilled detective.
Random Fact:
Rouge uncovered an old document which told of the original Project Shadow prototype "the bioilizard". This in-part could be why Shadow doubted he was the real original Ultimate Life Form created as a result of Project Shadow.

Name: Big the Cat

First Appearance: Sonic Adventure on Sega Dreamcast (1998/1999)
Abit about the character: Big is a very laid back not to smart kind of guy. He prefers to just sit around lazing under the sun fishing with his anphibian pal "froggy". When ever Froggy goes missing, Big is sure to go looking for him. He tends to be Slow in witts and movement. He does possess a fair amount of physical strength.
Random Fact:
Big is a friend of Amy Rose and Cream the Rabbit, making the 3rd member and the strong one (power type) in Team Rose in Sonic Heroes)

Name: Tikal
Age: Unkown
Species: Echidna
First Appearance: Sonic Adventure on Sega Dreamcast (1998/1999)
Abit about the character: Tikal lived very long ago with the Ancient Echidna population in what is now known as the Mystic Ruins. She was a friend to the Water god Chaos whom was a protector of the ancient Chaos Emeralds and of Chao. Upon discovering her Father wished to take the Chaos Emeralds for himself, she tried to protect Chaos, the Chao and the Chaos Emeralds, but her Father betrayed her and marched right through her. later she locked herself and Chaos in the Master Emerald as an attempt to protect the world from Chaos' angery revenge. Tikal is very loving, caring and protective in nature.
Random Fact:
Tikal was also the little pink ball of light that would give helpful(sometimes) hints to guide your way in Sonic Adventure. Tikal's name also comes from a real life set of ruins known as Tikal.

Name: Chaos
Age: Unkown
Species: Water God.
First Appearance: Sonic Adventure on Sega Dreamcast (1998/1999)
Abit about the character: Chaos lived with Tikal in ancient times. He was the protecter of the Chaos Emerald shrine that Knuckles now looks over. Possessing the ability to control water, and a quiet personality, Chaos really only wants peace. He just wants to be happy with his friends the Chao. Upon Tikal's father attacking him and his Chao friends he grew angrey and wished for revenge. He was sealed in the Master Emerald with Tikal. Later he was released and destroyed Station Square. Sonic later helped him come to terms with his past and put his soul at peace.
Random Fact:
Chaos has the ability to form any shape he wishes as his body is made entirely of water.

Name: E-102 Gamma
Age: Unkown
Species: E-100 series robot.
First Appearance: Sonic Adventure on Sega Dreamcast (1998/1999)
Abit about the character: E-102 Gamma was the 2nd created in a troupe of robots called the E-100 series, by Dr. Eggman. Created by placing little animals inside a machine as a power source, Gamma never fully became a robot at heart, still possesing his heart and personality from the bird he was built upon. Later he revolted against Eggman and set out to destroy his fellow e-100 series robots and to set free the animal caged inside. Upon the fullfillment of this quest, he self-destructed and freed the bird inside of him. While E-102 now longer exists as a robot, he exists as a bird flying happily around with his family.
Random Fact:
Gamma has since made small cameo appearances in games like Sonic Battle, just as the same model, but not possessing the same personality. He also befriended Amy Rose in Sonic Adventure.

Name: Froggy
Age: Unkown
Species: Frog
First Appearance: Sonic Adventure on Sega Dreamcast (1998/1999)
Abit about the character: Froggy is the best friend of Big the cat. He always runs off leaving Big to go and find him, which brings the two of them on some rather crazy adventures.
Random Fact:
He possesses the Tail of the Water God Chaos Becuase he swalled a Chaos Emerald. (Each Chaos Emerald had a part of Chaos' body sealed inside.)
