Sonic Riders for the gamecube (xbox, gamecube and ps2) THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE GAMECUBE VERSION SCORE 8/10 CONTROLS 5/10 They are simple enough to learn mind you, and the set up makes sense except, the characters either don't turn fast enough sometimes or dont respond to your button pressess. After a bit of practice though it can be mastered. STORY 8/10 This is a racing game so story shouldn't be too strong, but what story that was there was funny and entertaining. Not the best story in a sonic game but still amused me enough to continue playing. Everything flowed well so no hitches here. VISUALS 8/10 Graphics were pretty nice actually, Although i did think some of the character movements didnt look realistic, for instance the running didnt seem to sync up with the actual speed the characters were running at. Lots of detail for the stages and nice effects for wind vortexes and grass, water and the standard fare. SOUND/MUSIC 7/10 Everyone seems to be raving about the music of this game, personally i found it annoying, and on several occasions muted the tv to through on some godsmack or disturbed, but thats just my taste in music. The music is your standard techno rave music found in "extreame racing" games. ANY FLAWS? Controls don't seem to respond to well on the odd occasion and the mini-sequances on each track that requires you to rotate the analog thumb stick faster to recharge Air and go faster just wares out the controller really fast. I'm a fan of Ryan Drummond and the original video game voice cast and still hearing the 4 kids entertain ment VA's voice the games still bugs me. REPLAY 10/10 This game has tons of unlockable characters, gear, a few tracks and soem cool secrets, lots of fun can be had with it honestly. It's even a hoot with some friends racing each other. I think I'll be playing this one for a while yet. OVERALL 8.5/10 The rundown is, it is frustrating as hell when you first start out, but after a while you get better with the controls, puliing off tricks and the like and then you begin to like this game, The story is worth a luagh at least, and you get to see someone diss Tails and actually see him angrey for once. Something never before seen. The game doesn't have any slowdown as far as i can tell, and once you geet used to the controls, it's not such a bad game, infact i liked it this time around. ENjoy as many other have.
