The CenturionTHE CENTURION

Mark Chapter 15: 33-38.

33 At the sixth hour darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.

34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"--which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

35 When some of those standing near heard this, they said, "Listen, he's calling Elijah."

36 One man ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to take him down," he said.

37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.

38 The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

39 And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"

Isaiah 9:6 prophesied the coming of Jesus over 600 years before he was born and Psalm 22 prophesied his cry of "My God My God why have you forsaken me?" on the cross just before his death.

The mystery is why was Jesus forsaken by God on the cross and left to die? Isaiah 53:4 to 6, "smitten by God and afflicted," "And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Jesus chose to lay down his own life for us; he said so in John 10:18.
"No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have the power to lay it down and I have the power to take it again. This command I have received from my father." (NIV)

Mystery solved; it was the love that Jesus has for his lost sheep that led him to lay down his life for us to take it back up again in resurection and everlasting life for all his followers. Without hypocrisy, in private in your heart and in public in Joy in serving Jesus proclaim your faith publicly and witness to others of Jesus saving grace. It is no secret what God can do, what he did for others he'll do for you.

Believe on Him and His resurection, repent, call on Jesus name as your Lord and Saviour and be saved.

Psalms 71:11
Saying God hath forsaken him; persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
The answer is God raised him from the dead on the third day and seated him on the right side of the throne of God when he ascended into heaven after walking yet awhile on the earth as the living Jesus, son of Man, son of God, living God in the flesh. Jesus had said to Pilate in John 18:36, Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." Jesus is in heaven now and with us here on earth as the helper he promised before he ascended. We know from scripture that he will return to us yet again and all will be raised to eternal life. Some will live eternally in hell and some will live eternally in heaven depending upon which side of your heart Jesus lives; the inside or the outside? See Revelations 3:20

Jesus is knocking on the door to your heart. Will you answer and let him in? For now is the accepted time and only thru Jesus; there is no other way to heaven.

As Mr. Max McClain says read the bible and continue the story "he defeated death, Satan, and Sin for all that call on him for forgiveness and salvation. In the Holy name of J E S U S AMEN.
