Thoughts

Okay ^_^ Thoughts on JILS... hmmm... Well... I can start with why I made a site for them in the first place ^.~ I admire Yukiya. And I admire Ren and Shun. Between the 3 of them, JILS' material is almost entirely self-produced, self-recorded, and self-contained. Not only are they doing this for themselves, but for a bunch of other indies upstarts: Waive, Mystic Moon, and the other bands being supported by their Kreis label.

I also can't help but admire the tightness of their sound, the quality of their packaging and polish of their image. For a band that's largely supporting its own ass: JILS has their act together. They are serious musicians, something all too uncommon these days.

There's something... subtle about JILS. Nothing about the band attacks you. They don't dress like sluts, showgirls, peacocks or sci-fi characters. They don't use much synth, elaborate sets, expensive costumes or pounds of makeup. Somehow JILS manages to survive in spite of the sheer lack of novelty. There's nothing about them that you'd think would stand out over the hundreds of dyed, primped, and over-synthed drag bands that congest the scene. But they do have something 95% of those bands don't have.

They have experience, competance and determination. They have everything they need to make great music. They just need enough people to listen ^_~
