Anime Reveiw! |
The Anime RULES!! It's full deration is only 13 episodes and could easily pick up for a second season, which they should. The artiestry is exilent from large, eligent pagodas to the smallest details such as Adam's apples and finger nails. The coloring is exquisit and the plot didn't change much from the manga. They're still shinigami that investigate unnatural deaths along with Muraki as the bag guy and sexually herrassing Tsuzuki and Hisoka (at times). Tsuzuki in the series is a little more serious, but not by much and still cares for his friends very dearly. He still leans on Hisoka for emotional support and some times even Tatsumi. You only get to see three of his shikigami (summoning beasts) in the anime: Suzaku, Byakko, Touda. Touda is in the last two episodes and kind of scares Tatsumi and Watari from saving Tsuzuki. It was a good thing Hisoka was there to rush in and get his buddy out. Hisoka is a little bit colder in the series but he's reather warm with Tsuzuki. He also leans on Tsuzuki for emotional support. Such as this one case where he had to kill someone and he cried and Tsuzuki was the one to hold him tight and say "It's okay Hisoka." At the begining of the series Tsuzuki was saving Hisoka and defending him but towards the ending the tides turned. Watari never experiments in the series but you do get to see one of his inventions, "This is 'Bread Cutter Jason-kun!" He still has 003 with him almost everywhere he goes and he's still funny as ever. His light spirit and disire to help his friends hasn't changed at all and he still gets stressed when his friends are in trouble. Watari shows up everyonce in a while until the end where Tsuzuki and Hisoka had a case in "his" district. That's where you find out that Watari was born in the district that he's assigned to but grew up in Osaka. All in all, it's a wonderful series that needs to continue and be fansubed. |
